I am a native of Charleston and was born at Roper Hospital downtown. I have lived in the West Ashley area all of my life. I love living in Charleston. I have traveled many places and there is no place better. I love the hospitality and friendliness of the people who live here. The Stono and Ashley Rivers as well as The Charleston Harbor are beautiful and relaxing to me. The Charleston area beaches are some of the best in the world. The beauty and history of Charles Towne Landing and the downtown area are important to me.
I began working in the Insurance Industry in 1995 with another Insurance company. My aunt, Hilda Collier, was an Allstate Agent in Atlanta. I saw how much she loved being an Allstate Agent, so I started my own agency in May 1999. My agency is 1 mile west of the Holiday Inn Round and Historic Downtown Charleston on St. Andrews Blvd in West Ashley. We are 1 block from the Mex1 Coastal Cantina in the Avondale area. Our staff is very experienced and knowledgeable. We have over 95 years combined insurance experience among our current 8 staff. We are very proud of the area that we serve in. Charleston is consistently voted one of the top tourist destinations in the world and one of the friendliest cities in the country. Charleston is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the country. Our city is currently preparing to celebrate our 350th Anniversary in 2020. The Spoleto Festival is one of the top arts festivals in the world drawing people from every part of the part of the world in May of every year. The South Eastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE) draws people from all over the US every February. The Volvo Cup Tennis Tournament draws the top female tennis players from around world every April. The Cooper River Bridge run draws 40,000 runners every year in April. We are home to The Citadel, a state supported Military College since 1842. The College of Charleston, which was founded in 1770, is the oldest college in South Carolina and the 13th oldest in the United States. It has been named the most beautiful campus in America.
Being active in the Charleston community is very important to me. I enjoy volunteering my time at Stono Park Elementary, reading with children. I am the District Director for The Elks National Hoop Shoot Contest and assist the local Charleston Director as well serving on the Lowcountry Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Board of Directors. I am also an active member of and multiple Paul Harris Fellow in The St Andrews Rotary Club of Charleston. Lastly, I work water safety programs through The Josh Otter Foundation in local Title One Schools.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife Stacey, our daughters, Ashlyn and Addison and our Yorkshire Terrier, Misha. I often travel around South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina with my daughter Addison and her club soccer team, The Cainhoy Cannons. I also enjoy watching her play basketball and soccer for West Ashley High School. When she is not playing soccer or basketball, Addison displays her talents as a visual arts major at The Charleston County School of the Arts.
My older daughter, Ashlyn, is studying at Occupational Therapy at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and a certified Athletic Trainer.
My wife, Stacey, is the Preschool Director at our Church, St. Mark United Methodist Church. We have been married since 1992.
I am a huge University of South Carolina fan. I enjoy going to football, basketball, and baseball games. I also enjoy boating in the Stono and Ashley Rivers as well as the Charleston Harbor. I love going to Bowen’s Island for great local seafood, the awesome sunsets, and the beautiful views. Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, St. Mark United Methodist Church, The Pearl Theatre, College of Charleston Basketball games, The Riverdogs Baseball games for Friday Fireworks night. Volvo Cup Stadium for Hootie and The Blowfish Concerts.
