Our KACS PK4 and PK5 students attended a presentation by our wonderful KACS parents on Career Day. This live talk was presented, as part of the Community Helpers theme this week, to teach children about the people who live and work in their own community, to see the different vocations and realize that everyone has an important role to contribute and to expose their minds to what they may want to be when they grow up!
Special thanks to the Harrison and Myler Families!

Today KACS Preschoolers (PK3) began their weekly theme of "Forest Animals."
In their dramatic play center, it was converted into a forest and the children made a forest animal mask. They also examined different raw materials found in a typical forest such as leaves, acorns, flowers and rocks (characteristics of living versus non-living things).

KACS Older Toddler children were introduced to their weekly curricula theme entitled "My Senses."
The children explored all five senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching - doing various activities which help us to learn about our surroundings.
One of the activities involved describing the texture shown on a hand: hard (rice), bumpy (sponge), rough (felt), smooth (tape), soft (pom pom).

Today our KACS PK5 students presented their planet projects to their classmates. They shared fun facts about the planets and had a short Q&A session with each presenter.
This unit along with science also taught the students to have greater personal confidence and is an introduction to public speaking (one of mankind’s greatest fears!).
