My name is Brittany Witkowski and I am the Director of Kiddie Academy of Downtown Columbus. I have worked in childcare for 10 years and I have been with Kiddie Academy for a little over 3 years now. I love working with children because they bring so much joy into the classroom. I love anything Disney and the color pink!

Ohio AEYC and our stakeholders are asking Governor Mike DeWine his administration, and the Ohio Department of Health to prioritize the child care workforce for the voluntary COVID-19 vaccine.
Early childhood educators have performed heroically throughout the pandemic providing care for first responders’ youngest children in the beginning of the pandemic and to families returning to work in later months.
Ohio has announced priority for K-12 school teachers and staff, yet early childhood educators, many who have opened their programs to serve school-age children who are learning remotely are being left behind. Prioritizing child care workers in the same category as K-12 teachers will send a clear message that they are truly essential and not expendable or less worthy than teachers serving children in a public school setting.
