We love our little “punkins”!
Their faces say it all!! Our little learners in the Pine Cone class absolutely loved exploring their own pumpkin. It was messy and they LOVED it! While they dug inside their pumpkin we discussed how it felt, the color of the pumpkin, and the smell of the pumpkin. How great is preschool at Kiddie Academy of Florham Park! 😊❤️😊
First photo of the day for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. More “pink” pictures to follow to show our support for people affected by breast cancer, and to help increase awareness of the disease. #weareinthistogether ❤️ #breastcancerawarenessmonth #earlydetectionsaveslives🎀 #communitybeginshere #kiddieacademyofflorhampark
Nature Around Us is the theme for the week in the Hickory Tree room. They made their own pumpkin play dough, nature sensory bags, green grass picture, and fall leaves for their class tree. That is just a few of the things the students have been doing as they learn through play. We ❤️ our Kiddie Academy curriculum-Exploring My World.😊❤️ Come explore with us!
October is Fire Prevention Month and our Walnut Tree class has been discussing the importance of fire safety. They also made a special thank you for our local fire department to be delivered this week. Be sure to talk about fire safety at home and check all your fire alarms! #👩🏼🚒🚒🔥 #firesafetyweek #kiddieacademofflorhampark #learnon #communitybeginshere
Enjoy this beautiful display by our Willow Tree class. They worked hard to create a picture of Fall that we didn’t want you to miss seeing! #farmlife🚜 #LEARNON #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #fallharvest
It’s all about eight legged, eight eyed, creeping, crawling 🕷 🕷and 🕸 🕸 this week in the Walnut Tree class. They wrote spider facts in their journals, created geometric spider webs in sand, and even made their own spider ring. They also created a web by passing a yarn ball to a friend after stating a spider fact. What fun! Learning through play 😊🕷🕸. #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #learnon #spiderfacts🕷🕸
Fall Sensory Fun! The Hickory Tree class played with fall colored rice, leaves, and acorns. The teachers talked with the children about the different colors and textures as they explored. At KAFP we learn through play everyday!! #learnon #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #fallsensorybins🍁🍂🍃🍁
Our little Pine Cones enjoyed a Fall Harvest this past week! They went to the Farmer's Market, painted with corn, created a colorful art piece using pureed fall vegetables, and made flint corn. They topped off the week with our very first KAFP tractor pull! Yee Haw - it was down home fun!😊❤️ 🚜 🌽 👩🌾
Happy Boss Day to YOU!! We love being on your team at KAFP😊👍❤️🎉! Enjoy your day. #bossday2020 #kiddieacademyofflorhampark # we❤️you #communitybeginshere
Our Willow Tree friends showered our neighbor, @atlantichealth - Pediatrics at Florham Park, with THANKS for all that they do to keep our community safe and healthy! Our little learners are putting action to their theme this week about Community Helpers. Thank you to all of the essential workers who do so much! #atlanticmedicalgroup #❤️essentialworkers #kiddieacademofflorhampark #communitybeginshere #weappreciateyou
Anything pumpkin is always fun, whether you eat it, carve it or turn it into hands-on pumpkin experiment! Our Kindergarten students worked on building letter P words before moving on to a very exciting science experiment 🧪 - a pumpkin volcano 🌋 . Hands on learning - children learning by doing. 😊👍
Our infant/toddlers are like little sponges as their little minds soak up all about SHAPES, COLORS, and SPANISH. Through our New Beginnings and Discovering Me curriculum, our teachers help our little learners to improve their expressive and receptive language by using picture cards, exploration items, sign language, and beginning Spanish vocabulary.

Wow! Thank you to our KAFP families for donating 239 pounds of food for Interfaith Food Pantry Thanksgiving Food Drive. Thank you to Tess for helping with the unloading of the 239 lbs!! Community does begin at KAFP. #givethanks #helponeanother #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #communitybeginshere #wearethankful❤️
We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about you? We love spirit days at KAFP. Today we sported our favorite team attire. Go team! #spiritday #jerseyday #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #weareateam #gogators🐊
The students in the Walnut Tree class worked on number recognition by placing Mr. Turkey’s 🦃 feathers in the correct place. Using a variety of items, they next created their own turkey to display. After tracing their hand, and cutting it out, they worked on penmanship by writing a sentence about why they are thankful. What a full day of exploring, creating, and growing the students had in the Walnut Tree room. #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #learnon #thankfulness #turkeytime🦃
Make time each day to practice mindfulness. As we near Thanksgiving, take the time to talk with your child about being thankful. Make a list together of things you are thankful for, post it in your house, and add to it daily. We want all of our families at KAFP to know we are thankful for you!! #mindfulminute #learnon #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #communitybeginshere #we❤️ourfamilies
Did you know that preschool shapes recognition is an early math skill and teaching colors is best done through play and everyday life experiences? At Kiddie Academy we believe children learn best through play and hands on activities. Our Hickory Tree friends learned all about colors and shapes this week. They painted with green broccoli 🥦, stamped yellow ⭐️, matched shapes and colors, and much more. We love our Exploring Our World curriculum! #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #lifeessentialscurriculum #exploringourworld #colorsandshapes
“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.”
“Each person must live their life as a model for others.”
~ Rosa Parks
The Willow Tree class kicked off the first week of February celebrating and learning about Black History Month. After looking at a picture of a 🌈, they learned that a rainbow is made up of different colors. But to make a rainbow you need different colors. They sorted different types and colors of beans while learning that although different they are all beans. Next, they looked at the lives of those who made a difference in our world while following their dreams and passions. Rosa Parks inspired others to stand up against unfair laws. Jackie Robinson, the first Black player in modern American major league baseball, who had to overcome prejudice by sheer courage to become a hero to many! We can’t wait to see what next week brings for our little learners. #learnon #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #weareunique #communitybeginshere
You just have to love preschool. The sweet smiles and giggles of children learning is priceless. Our toddlers explored their senses by smelling different items. Who knew an onion could be so fun! Learning through play!
It’s all about “Our 5 Senses” in the Pine Cone classroom this week. Our little toddlers used their sense of smell today as they painted with scented paint. They also picked out different items to smell from a bucket. A 5 senses matching game also helped to strengthen our little learners language, concentration, and memory. #learnon #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #my5senses #lifeessentialscurriculum
February is Children’s Dental Health month. The Walnut Tree class will be learning the importance of dental health and taking care of their pearly whites🦷 this week. After reviewing the letter of the week - Ww - they picked foods that would be safe their teeth vs those that would be damaging to their teeth. They also used a toothbrush to find the letters of the alphabet in toothpaste. Keep brushing and flossing everyone! #dentalhealthmonth #smile😁 #kiddieacademyofflorhampark #learnon
