We have started off our day of Halloween fun with a Halloween costume parade. Look at how cute our Kindergartners look!

Look at our future Engineers. They are demonstrating the ability to focus on a task and make sure it is the way that they want it to be. Way to go!
We like to have some motor skill workouts in the classroom. Our children move with balance, control, and coordination in a range of physical activities as he tries to walk a straight line along the tiles on the floor.
Our Four Year Olds are focused on the phonics of words to recognize the sounds associated with letters in words. Today they talked about vowels and had the chance to identify them in words and their names.
Look at the focus of our Four Year Old as she searches for her sight words of the month in the newspaper for Literacy time.
Our Three Year olds are producing scribbles (that are different from pictures), letter-like shapes, symbols, or letters to convey meaning. When the school years begin they will have the best handwriting around.
This year for Thanksgiving we are hosting a food drive for Asbury Community Assistance Network(ACAN).
ACAN is a healthy food pantry in Anne Arundel county that provides groceries to families in need. ACAN operates primarily from private and public donations.

Our Character Ed for the month is We Are Thankful. We are thankful for all the donations that were given to our food drive this month. It was greatly appreciate!

As our We are Thankful month continues we wanted to let everyone know that your food donation was delivered to ACAN. We thank everyone who donated. Community Begins here at Kiddie Academy!
As we are approaching to the winter season, our Three year olds are talking about which animals are Diurnal and Nocturnal. This also helps the children to explore the relationship between living things and their environments as they graph it during their large group time.
Look at our Infants doing their art project for today. With deep concentration they are able to focus and hold on to the paintbrush with their motor skills.
Our Character Ed for the month is We Are Kind. As we ended November with being thankful for all that we have and the great outpour of food donations to ACAN, we are happy to start accepting donations for Toys for Tots this month. With your kindness we hope that we can make a small child have a happy holiday season. We will have this drive until December 18th. Your kindness is greatly appreciate!
As a small group our toddlers are able to demonstrate their improved strength and control of hands and fingers to perform various hand actions while they play with the playdough.
Our toddlers are trying to be early readers but they do demonstrate the beginning of book-handling skills (holds book, turns some pages) with assistance, shows interest in reading, and demonstrates understanding of pictures. Good job working on those motor skills.
4 year olds are at work. They were able to fill in the missing letters of the alphabet and use a 3-finger grasp with dominant hand to hold a writing utensil as they filled in the missing spots.
This is the season for giving. The children are talking about kindness, so with everyone's kindness we can make this a successful toy drive for Toys for Tots. We will be collecting new toys until December 18th. So lets get your family and friends to help so we can make a child have aa happy holiday this year.
Our 2 year olds are showing how to demonstrate coordination and strength in fingers, hands, and wrists to accomplish tasks. Could we possibly have a future architect?
Look at the Literacy skills that our 4 year olds are doing. They are able to recognize and match many uppercase and lowercase letter symbols to their names.
The Toddlers like to engage and persist in numerical play as they talk about the numbers 1 through 5. The children also sang songs that contained the shape of stars and the numerical numbers 1 through 5.
We would like to thank all of our center families and community for all of their generosity of toys for Toys For Tots. We have received an over abundance of toys. We are still collecting toys until tomorrow. Kiddie Academy is glad that we will be able to help put a smile on children this Holiday season.
Today as a center we Candy Cane day. The children and staff wore their red and white. Our 4 year olds made candy canes to create two- and three-dimensional art. They also wanted to show that the candy cane has a certain pattern and they tried to make that pattern as they did their art.

Our 4 year olds have made their New Year Resolutions. Sometimes you never know what will be said from our little friends in the 4 year old program.
The Staff and Management Team at Kiddie Academy of Hanover would like to wish all of our families a Happy New Year. Hope its a good one for everyone.
Our 3 year olds are beginning to recognize the sounds associated with letters. Today they were talking about the letter "R". Can you guess what they made using the letter R? It's a rabbit.
Today our 4 year olds learned how to move with balance, control, and coordination in a range of physical activities as they were told to jump to the number that their teacher told them. Nothing better to help with some coordination.
Look at our little Astronomer at work. Our 4 year olds were busy talking about Constellations today. The children were able to make their own constellations and explore the properties and characteristics of light and sound as they talked about what they made.
Look at our Toddlers in action. The teachers made a musical instrument out of a toilet paper rolls and added a noise maker inside of it. The children were able to move their bodies to music to help purposefully create sounds and demonstrate an understanding of basic elements of music.
Beginning to print letters of own name is a process that our 4 year olds are trying to achieve. When they are ready for Kindergarten they will be able to be ahead of the class.
Our 3 year olds are working on their literacy. They are able to recognize rhyming words in spoken language or by pictures.
Today our 4 year olds read the book "The Hat". The children then were able to create their own Hats by creating two- and three-dimensional art. Look at the concentration that is involved to make sure everything sticks on the paper.

Our 3 year olds are busy learning about the letter "T". They were able to discuss words that begin with the letter T. What do you think they made the letter T look like? That's right a TREE. They had fun discussing one’s own art as well as the art of others as they did their projects.
Our Infants are still unsure of what is going on with art. Our teachers were still able to get them to do a little bit of finger painting. We will have them making masterpieces in no time.

After reading "The Pout Pout Fish" our 3 year olds did a little matching game with the characters from the story. They were able to identify and describe common shapes and their attributes of the character to see which one belongs to what. Way to use their memory skills!

Today our Toddler teachers did and activity with the toddlers using Cotton Swabs. The children were able to use the cotton swabs ats paint brushes and they explored art materials and creativity to express self in art as they painted. Concentration is very active in this child as he does his art.

Students in our 3 year old room created a Mr. Potato head identifying the 5 senses. The children represented their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and/or knowledge in artistic creations.
It is never too early to have the children talk about being healthy. Today our 3 Year olds were able to identify healthy and non-healthy foods by working on the food pyramid. They will be able to tell you which food belongs in which group.
As our toddlers talk about their Family and friends, they are able to demonstrates a sense of belonging to a group by naming family members, recognizing children and others they spend time with, and comparing their own physical features with those of others. As everyone knows, toddlers are very busy children. As we just celebrated Presidents Day on Monday our four year olds discussed some of our past presidents. Today they discussed about President George Washington and the cherry trees. The children made their trees using their hands and they discussed one’s own art as well as the art of others as all of the trees were different.
Our Infants are doing an excellent job with their tummy time. Doing tummy time with your child helps with their neck support.
Our Two year olds have been little busy bees this week as they have been learning about engineering with working with tools. Today they were happy to play a little game of GO FISH as they were able to match different jobs that use different tools to perform their jobs.
As the Infants are learning about colors, their teachers made little sensory shakers, which fit in their hands, to represent the colors of the rainbow. The children like the colors that they see and they also enjoy the sounds that they hear from the bottles. Lets SHAKE, RATTLE, and ROLL into having fun with colors.

As our little Meteorologist are busy working (our two year olds) on the different kinds of weather, they were able to sort and classifiy groups based on one characteristic. Recognizes simple patterns as they make the patterns from the sun and the clouds.
This week as a whole center we celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK. Along with this week we are also celebrating Dr. Suess with a SPIRIT WEEK. Today we celebrate Dr. Suess with doing an art project with our Toddlers as we read the book "BLUE FISH, RED FISH". With doing this activity the toddlers were able to demonstrate improved strength and control of hands and fingers to perform various hand actions as they dotted their fish with the bingo dotters.

Did you know that there are different kinds of clouds? There are clouds that are named altocumulus clouds, altostratus clouds and cirrocumulus clouds. Our Two year olds are busy playing Memory as they sort and classifiy the pictures of the clouds based on one characteristic. They are masters in recognizing simple patterns. Be on the look out for them on television soon to be telling you the weather.
