Our Character Essential for the month of October is “We Have Feelings”!
The goal this month is to help the children identify, describe, and appropriately express feelings, as well as to help them develop a sense of empathy toward others. The following traits will help the children in managing their emotions and having positive relationships with others later in life.

Dress-up play allows anyone to dream, hope, and use their imagination. It gives kids permission to pretend to be someone or something different and extraordinary that reflects their personality and current interests and promotes more independence by allowing kids to practice self-care skills!

November Character Essentials - “We are Thankful”
The focus this month is to create an environment where children are learning to be thankful and are able to express their gratitude. Gratitude is a trait best learned through modeling. By modeling polite behaviors and showing appreciation for others, teachers can help our children develop the skills to be thankful and grateful.

Put on your boots, raincoats, slickers and grab some rubber duckies, too. Skip along the way. Splashing in puddles can be a terrific way to relieve stress. ✏️ February Character Essential - “We are Unique”✏️
Every child is a unique individual. Our children are beginning to discover their likes and dislikes, creativity, curiosity, fears, talents, and sense of humor. Teachers can encourage a child’s individuality through his or her interactions and by listening to each child and supporting the child’s interest. Children at this stage need the support of trusted adults to nurture and encourage the development of their unique qualities. Be sure to celebrate their accomplishments, encourage their efforts and show joy for their efforts!

Our friends had so much fun painting their umbrellas. Painting aids hand-eye coordination. This is developed while they learn to paint the parts that they see; making sure their hand movement is at par with their vision. 🎨 🖌
Fun fact: Tummy time helps our infants work all muscles in their upper body, promoting core stability and head control. Tummy time also helps our infants build strength in their back, legs, arms, and neck!

✏️ Character Essential: We are Patient ✏️
Our students are developing the skills needed to control their emotions and actions when it comes to building patience. They are beginning to understand and accept the reasons for when and why things may not be available to them at that moment. They desire instant gratification, and waiting a minute can feel like a lifetime. During this stage of development, they are learning the ability to regulate their behavior by understanding the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. As language skills and long-term memory continue to develop, they will begin to understand the importance of expectations, limits and patience.
