So much fun watching the academy take shape right before our eyes. We'll have even more fun when the rooms are filled with laughter and learning in early 2021!
Every week we think, what a difference a week makes! The roof is complete with the highest energy efficient shingles, the masonry is underway, and a lot of work is going on inside as well! Thanks to the team at Global Power and Construction for keeping the project on track!
Great construction weather this week, which means we have more progress on the building to share. 😀 Very soon we'll be seeing shingles and masonry in these updates!

Interior walls are taking shape and showing all of our classrooms! With the parking lot foundation completed and stone compacted, we can start to imagine all the wonderful families in this great community entering the property.
So honored to have had Mayor John Egofske and members of the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance join us last week for our official "groundbreaking." Covid-19 may have kept us from physically being together until Phase 4, but as you can see in the background, it has not halted our progress. #lemont #kiddieacademy
We are thrilled to have Amanda Cardin join Kiddie Academy of Lemont as our new Director! Amanda has many years of experience in Early Childhood Education. She feels it is very important to serve the community and is active in volunteer work. She is currently President of the Chicago Ridge Lions Club, which partnered with another organization this month to distribute 250 boxes of food for those in need. Amanda is passionate about reading and her favorite books to read to the children are from the "Don't Let the Pigeon..." series by Mo Willems. We look forward to the families of Lemont experiencing her expertise and warm, caring disposition first hand.

Interior walls, a splash of color for the classrooms and concrete trike tracks for little peddlers...It's all coming together!
This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for the near completion of our center! This week equipment arrived for our full-service kitchen, the rock climbing wall was installed in our Gross Motor Room for those inclement weather days we Chicagoans know well, and the ZONO Sanitizing cabinet arrived so we're able to minimize the spread of germs from those well-loved and mouthed toys and other items. We are counting down the days until we have occupancy, and can begin the application process to be fully licensed to serve the families of the community!
So exciting to see more interior progress with cubbies going in, and a completed playground at our future Kiddie Academy home! Just imagine the children riding trikes on the tracks, or playing the outdoor musical instruments. Can't wait to welcome them to the academy!

Many thanks to our new partner Kiddie Academy of Lemont for their generous donation of books to our collection! Kelly and Chris donated both Vox books and board books, two of our most popular collections. We are so excited to have a new partner in town and we can't wait for you to check out these brand new books!

We started moving in on Monday! By mid-week the fantastic teams from Discount School Supply and Grand Slam Industries had all of the classrooms ready to welcome young students. Stay tuned as we near the finish line - we cannot wait to share our beautiful new Academy with each of you!
