Dear Parents, Taking into consideration that the Center for Disease Control guidelines currently recommend gatherings of no more than 10 people, that the Oceanside School District has closed its schools, and, among many other factors, that the bay area has issued a “shelter in place” order affecting almost 7 million people, I believe it’s in the best interest of our children, parents, and grandparents that we proceed, as always, with an abundance of caution and close Kiddie Academy until this viral threat is under control. Kiddie Academy will close effective immediately due to the COVID-19 virus and will re-open as soon as possible, based on information, guidelines, and directives provided by our public health officials. We regret the inconvenience this will create for many of you, but, as you must know by now, we at Kiddie Academy always base our decisions on what is right and what is best for the children in our care. For the time being, please adhere to strategies recommended by health professionals: wash hands, keep hands away from face, hunker down – stay home if at all possible, and avoid gathering in large groups. We, as a community, must do all we can to help the most vulnerable among us. The effects of this virus are lethal, with the elderly and immune-compromised being the most at risk. Let us all work together to mitigate the effects and the duration of this pandemic that has now been declared a national emergency.
