Kiddie Academy has excellent opportunities available for experienced child care professionals in South Riding, VA. Individuals will provide classroom leadership as they strive to manage a program that exceeds organizational standards, NAEYC guidelines, and corporate expectations. Our School Support Teachers will be responsible for assisting in the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children in connection with their teaching team. Is responsible for working with their team to ensure that all parents, children, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed. • Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained. • Completes all academy and classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, student accident reports, attendance reports. • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings, as requested. • Assists and supervises children during all activities. • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise. • Implements classroom lesson plans, program, and schedule. • Assists children with meal times and clean-up. • Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly. • Communicates appropriate information to parents; maintains developmental profiles for children. • Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards. • Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed. • Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel is not available: for example, may answer the telephones at front desk, or may assist supervisor with bookkeeping tasks. • Assists with planning and implementing academy-wide events. Qualifications and Skills • Must have a love and passion for working with children. • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high. • Must be able to pass both a state and federal background check. Distance Learning may be new, but adapting to new situations and expectations is a life skill that these kiddos have been practicing since way before LCPS asked it of them. Day one is in the books and we are pumped to continue the rest of this school year supporting our learning community as best we can! 

Thrilled our Kaplan order arrived today! Cannot wait to transform our classrooms for the new school year. We will have extra seating to allow for social distancing between friends in all rooms as well as additional tables for our Distance Learning Enrichment Program! Picture Day will take place on Thursday, Sept 17th & Friday, Sept 18th. Additional details regarding picture day breakdown will be sent directly to families closer to the dates!

If your looking for a new twist on a nature walk try taking some packing tape, a cut up paper towel roll, and create a nature cuff! All you need to do is put the tape on backwards and stick the flowers, petals, and other fun things you find onto your bracelet! 

Popsicle day was a hit! Kiddos loved picking colors and making their own snack. We can’t wait to end spirit week with our PJ party tomorrow!

In order to accurately teach the importance of community helpers such as sanitation workers... a student must first make a mess that requires being cleaned up, put in a trash bag, and then picked up in a trash truck! #embracethemess

The kids had so much fun this morning with their Fall Festival! We are looking forward to Apple cider and donuts this afternoon for our special fall snack! A special thanks to Cox Farms for helping us organize such a special event for our kiddos! 

Here’s what unloading 100 pumpkins, over 100 donuts, and more gallons of cider then we can count looks like! Excited to set up our fall festival tomorrow for all of our students!

Learning is more fun when it’s hands on! This afternoon the Monkeys class took a few rolls of painters tape and some duplo LEGO’s to work on learning letters! Not only were we able to talk about letters, but we were able to expand the conversation to cover the color of the blocks, the number of blocks we were using, and even how tall we could make our letter towers! When you think beyond writing on a piece of paper the learning opportunities are endless!

Community begins here isn’t just something we say, it’s something be believe in. We are thinking of you Jack and are counting down until you can join us in class again! A very special thank you to our community who helped make this possible. Together we were able to raise over $4,000 for WolfPack Childhood Cancer Foundation so that they can continue to support our local families facing childhood cancer. #JackAttack Strikes Back!

This week our kiddos are learning about the Arctic! Thank goodness our explorers came just in time to rescue these Arctic animals from being frozen in the ice.
