Kiddie Academy of Staten Island-Great Kills is open again to care for your child! We’re excited to offer the same quality educational child care you’ve come to expect from our Academy, plus enhanced health and safety procedures to give you peace of mind while your child explores and discovers throughout the day. We can’t wait to see you again soon!
Keeping a routine is important. This will help children feel secure as they continue to face their new normal. Create a schedule that provides educational activities and exploratory play. Be sure to balance the schedule by alternating quiet vs active activities. As much as possible, try to adhere to the same routine daily. Allow for open ended play-which promotes cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Child directed play also inspires self-confidence and increases self-esteem. Don’t forget to add in snack and rest times!

No need to worry! Kiddie Academy’s At-Home activities have been written with common household objects and materials in mind. The lessons are easily adaptable, and many have an alternative built in. Many materials can be substituted easily or interchanged with a similar item. What matters is your child is practicing a skill and having fun!

Kiddie Academy of Staten Island-Great Kills is reopening on August 3, 2020! We’re excited to offer the same quality educational child care you’ve come to expect from our Academy, plus enhanced health and safety procedures to give you peace of mind while your child explores and discovers throughout the day. We can’t wait to see you again soon!
Listen to your child! These activities are meant to be fun, never stressful or forced upon him or her. Let your child show you what his or her interests are and then modify our activities to match those interests. Maybe include animals or vehicles if that is what he or she loves! Just remember to be flexible. It is okay if the learning goes in a different direction. Your child is still learning valuable skills and spending quality one-on-one time with you.

A child learning his alphabet starts to recognize letters – specifically the letter C, the first letter of his name – at Kiddie Academy, at home and throughout his community as he goes through the day. Kiddie Academy's Life Essentials curriculum focuses on fusing education with fun to spark a passion for learning that accompanies children wherever they go, for the rest of their lives. #learnon
