It's not the weekend just yet! We're so proud of the FRIDAY FOCUS and ENGAGEMENT that our school-agers have with "distance learning."
We also appreciate all of the efforts and dedication of their elementary school teachers during these turbulent times.

On Friday, we celebrated Ms. Kas's Pre-K class heading off to Kindergarten. A special thanks to Kona Ice of South Vancouver for providing our entire school community with a cool, Summer sweet treat.

Today our school-age Summer Camp and Pre-K classes were treated to a special visit from Penny's Puppet Productions . Thank you so much for a very entertaining morning!
As school districts continue to define "distance learning" for school-age students, Kiddie Academy is investing in resources to assist families with child care needs. This weekend, we installed 5 study carrel cubicles to assist with "distance learning" requirements and privacy.
While the health and safety of our child care community continues to be our top priority, we are also committed to helping students move forward academically in challenging times.
We thrilled to be an education partner of Vancouver Public Schools VPS CTE as we host two high school teachers specializing in early childhood development. We're so grateful to have you, Ms. Meagan and Ms. Madeline!
Per a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, a Yale study determined "children in day-care programs present virtually no risk of transmitting COVID-19 to adults" in a review of more than 57,000 U.S. child-care providers.
While we want folks to draw their own conclusions so they can ultimately choose what's best for their family, we felt this was positive news to share.

This week our spudder students practiced exploring relationships between objects. With support from Ms. Molly and Ms. Stephanie, the students created spider webs to go with their theme of the week Eric Carle!

Today Ms. Avery and Ms. Mary-Fe led our Penguin students in some winter themed activities. Their students practiced color matching with mittens and got their creative hands busy painting snowflakes!

This morning, she put together a delicious continental breakfast as a "thank you" to our amazing teachers and staff. Their dedication to the school has allowed us to serve families throughout the pandemic. We're truly grateful for this amazing education team!
Today Ms. Leilana led our Hawks students in creating their very own New Year's resolutions!
Our school age program faced the most changes this year adapting to their distant learning from our Hawks classroom. Every day these students show us their resilience and determination towards their education. We have no doubt each and every one of them will reach their resolutions in the New Year!

We are excited for some outdoor play this week, along with bouncy balls and slides we love building. Block play promotes social skills, spatial recognition, motor skills, problem solving, and more!
Wow! So incredibly grateful for Mr. Curt and his snow plow. Thanks to him, tonight's "pick-up" will go much better than this morning's drop-off. Our parent community truly is the best!

Given tonight's National Weather Service ice storm warning on top of the 12" we have at the school, we will be closed on President's Day, Monday February 15th. We'll see you all back at school on Tuesday morning at 7:00am! Stay safe and warm!

Today the Sounders learned about Mărțișor (mərt͡siˈʃor), a Romanian custom that traditionally takes place March 1.
As you may have heard, Washington State gave immediate COVID vaccine access to child care teachers effective late yesterday afternoon.
Within an hour, our amazing teachers were quick to activate in scheduling their vaccine appointments all courtesy of Legacy Salmon Creek.
We're so proud of our education team as we take yet another step in keeping our school healthy and safe. Thank you teachers! And thank you Legacy!
On Sunday, many of our teachers used their day off to get COVID vaccinated thanks to Legacy Salmon Creek. We're so proud of all the steps they are taking to keep our families safe.
