My friends from the Tulips class came to visit with me today in the Sunroom and they explored the entire room. WOW! Some of my friends were doing a lot of problem solving with this Fall March game. A few friends were constructing a dance floor with the magnet blocks and my other friends were on the game beam. Yeah!
Today the Roses VPK class visit to the Sunroom was very exciting. We were exploring the life cycle of flowers and trees. We created our very own Fall tree using our hand print and arm. Happy Fall Y’all!!!!

Here at Kiddie Academy Westchase an addition to our awesome curriculum, we also offer soccer, stem enrichments like the Virtuali-tee, quivervision, and jr. Lego league. The children get to experience legos in a totally different way using this special made LEGO table. #soccer#legoleague#stem#quivervision.
This activity was the highlight of them all. We had a flying bumblebee, a ladybug, a bug catcher and a bug watcher. They were playing on the beam, while trying to stay away from the bug catcher and the bug watcher. They are the cutest bug explorers ever! Next week we will be looking at bugs under a microscope. Yeah! We are ready!

The two year old Little Sunflowers enjoyed playing on the dinosaur map as we are concluding are exploration on the life cycle of bugs and animals. Yes, we know that dinosaurs are extinct but they are so much fun to talk about and play with. These friends knew the names of these dinosaurs. That was amazing!
My two year old little Sunflowers came to visit with me in the Sunroom today and they were amazed with all of the different size dinosaurs, bugs and the volcano. Well, this picture speaks volumes, my friend was taking the bugs and building with them by placing them on top of each other. So cute! Just look at how they are reacting to the various activities. It was priceless. I love this Sunroom and really enjoy preparing the room and the activities, because this is an extension of the learning experience here at Kiddie Academy of Westchase. When the children come into this room they have structured exploration time as well as, free range exploring time. After briefly discussing the Hanukkah holiday and all of the symbols attached to their holiday, my friends were ready to explore. Hanukkah is the focus for this week and the children participated in several activities involving the Menorah candles by tracing their hands, using play dough to create the menorah and lastly playing the gelt hunt game. #earlylearning #VPK #wholechildafter
After reviewing the information sheets all about Hanukkah and talking about the symbols that is the focus of this holiday, my friends really enjoyed using play-dough to create their very own menorahs. The first science project is the Dancing Raisins. The children and I will have to figure out if the raisins could dance in clear soda or water. Hello, to all of my friends and families. Today I dropped in on my friends in the Roses VPK classroom and this is what they were exploring. Let’s take a look inside this VPK class and see what my friends were learning about.
The children were exploring seeds and beans of all kinds, they also did an experiment using celery and food coloring. The children planted several different size seeds and beans. They put the celery inside of the food coloring and the celery stalks soaked up the food coloring and they each turned the color of the food coloring. Today was the grand opening of our new STEM room and the Zinnias 2 year old classroom was the first class to visit. The lesson was all about the five senses and where does all of our food go. The lesson was taught to my friends using the Virtuali-tee through Curioscope.com. #STEM #science

Today my friends from the Roses classroom was very excited to visit our newSTEM ROOM. We are wrapping up the theme, What Is Science. The focus this week was on the five senses and there were activities from naming, describing and matching the five senses game, building on the new lego table, building using Large blocks and a tasting test where there were various and different answers. For the sense of smell there was crushed garlic, complete seasoning, cinnamon and for taste there was sour tarts, popping rocks and gummy smiles. #STEM #science

Today I was so happy to get a visit from the Zinnia’s class in the Sunroom and my friends were exploring Outer Space. The children enjoyed activities like building a space station in the block area, dancing, jumping and playing on the beam and talking all about things that are up in space. #STEM #science

Well, just look at my little friends from the one year old Daisies classroom. The theme for this month is Simple Machines and the children enjoyed rolling the pompoms down the sloping race track. It was so cute to see them looking to see where the pompom roll away to. #STEM
Well, the theme in the Sunroom this month is Simple Machines. My little friends from the one year old Daffodils classroom came to visit me today in the Sunroom and they were very interested in the super racer sloping card board box machine. Their job was to see if the jumbo pompom can roll down the sloping track. Yes, it did and the reaction on their little faces was priceless. #STEM
This month we celebrated Dr. Seuss and African American History and these two pictures are precious... The first picture is being represented by one of our VPK students from the Roses class and he is with his father, and he is also a teacher. The second picture is represented by the Lilies three year old classroom and the picture shows different cultures. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s dream came true! #kiddieacademykids
My friends from the Lilies three year old classroom was very excited to use this incline plane super racer that was created using two different size boxes. The children had to investigate which of the three objects will roll down the sloping track. The three objects were a wooden wedge block, a tiny race car and a jumbo cotton pompom. #stem
The Lilies classroom came to visit with me in the Sunroom and we were exploring activities all about Simple Machines. The children enjoyed creating simple machines using different pattern blocks to build on display posters that describes what the children will create. #stem
The Roses VPK classroom was so excited to use this inclined plane super sloping racer made out of two different size boxes and pool noodles. The children were using three different objects like a wooden wedge block, a jumbo pompom-cotton ball and a tiny race car, to see which one will roll down the sloping track. The answer was the jumbo pompom-cotton ball. #stem
Women’s History Month allows us to honor strong, powerful and determined women leaders from the past and today. Introducing children to amazing woman in history opens the opportunities for greatness for all young girls and women.
Now, look at the jumbo simple tool building finale! There were three different groups of children that added to this creation and all of their ideas came together and it was magnificent! Thank you Tulips! #stem

In the very first picture on the top is the beginning process of building a pendulum, using the jumbo building set with the Roses classroom. Now, look at how each group of children added to the pendulum and made it a masterpiece. #stem #science
This is one of the balls that successfully made it through the obstacle course in the pendulum game. The children were so excited to see this happen! #science
The Roses classroom really enjoyed playing with and taking turns on the pendulum game. The challenge in this game was to knock the balls off of the cups, through the hole on the box and down the inclined plane. did it work? Yes, it did. #science #stem
