It's with a heavy heart we announce our owner, leader and friend to all has passed away to be with his heavenly family. Through many decades Mr. Don was a mainstay in the area. His love and passion for plants and flowers was contagious. Locals would come in often just to ask him questions. He always took time to identify rare plants or explain how to take care of flowers. Often beaming because his knowledge was helping others.
His love of plants and flowers was only eclipsed by his love of his family and helping others. He contributed to many local charities and fundraisers. His big heart and passion for helping often spilled into his business life. Many times he did funeral arrangements for strangers with little or no money. He felt everyone deserved to have at least one beautiful arrangement at a loved ones service.
The most important thing in his life was his family. His wife, children and grandchildren especially. A day never went by that stories of his family weren't told in his beloved flower shop. A single phone call from any of them and Mr. Don would bolt out the door just to spend some time with them. The following day he would beam as he told stories of picking up the grandchilden and getting ice cream.
In this fast paced world many people don't take the time to do the little things the enriches the lives of those that do. Mr. Don touched so many peoples lives because he took the time for little things. He stopped to smell the roses and enriched everyone's life around him for it.
