#FacesOfTheFarm is back again this week, and this time we're highlighting Blue Ridge Gemstone Jewelry! Blue Ridge Gemstone Jewelry began as two old guys having a blast exploring the mountains of North Carolina. Many adventures later, Charlie and Johnny decided to learn how to cut the rough gemstones that they had been slowly accumulating. Several skinned knuckles later, the idea for Blue Ridge Gemstone Jewelry was born. In the beginning, it was not uncommon to find Linda, Johnny, Michelle, Jennifer and Darcy gathered around the kitchen table working on their beaded creations. Blue Ridge has grown to offer many products including beaded necklaces and earrings, leather bracelets, wooden earrings and wire wrapped trees of life. Currently, you can find Blue Ridge at the Kingsport Farmers Market on Saturdays through the end of October. Follow them on social media (Facebook and Instagram) to see their latest creations or drop by on Saturday!

It's time for #FacesOfTheFarm once again! This week, we're taking a closer look at a longtime market favorite, The Fig Lady. Kathy and Jon Waldo have been growing figs at their farm in Jonesborough since 1998. They grow their own heirloom variety of brown turkey figs. This variety was brought to Kingsport in the 1940’s by Kathy’s family, and many of the fig trees in Kingsport were cloned from the same tree. They currently have 18 producing trees. The Fig Lady has been selling figs and fig related foods at the Kingsport Farmer’s Market since 2007!
Don’t forget we are still open on Wednesday’s through the end of October. Come by and see us on this beautiful morning!

As our 2020 season starts to wind down for the year, we wanted to take a moment to say a big ol' thank you to everyone who has made this season a success. Amid a global pandemic, farmers markets—like all businesses—have been required to adapt operations for the communities that depend on them. The Kingsport Farmers Market was no different. Though our season began a little later than usual, this year has proven the resilience of KFM vendors, especially our local farmers. But through it all, both vendors and customers alike adapted to new guidelines meant to protect everyone who comes to the market. With the support of the Kingsport community, the farmers market has had a great year. There's never been a better time to shop local! The market will continue on Saturdays through the end of November, and keep an eye out for our vendor-organized Christmas Craft Show on December 5 to wrap up the season.
