About Dr. Minkus

His medical practice in Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona, provides holistic care with a team of board-certified internists, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and interventional radiologists. They treat the whole patient, not just individual parts like many specialty practices.
Dr. Minkus completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and continued his education with graduate work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From there, he entered a combined medical and clinical research program at St. George’s University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, graduating with an MD and Master of Science degree.
He continued his training at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Toledo, Ohio, where he received training in interventional radiology and completed his radiology residency.
After finishing a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Rush University Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Minkus relocated to Arizona, where he continued to pursue his medical specialties with advanced postgraduate training. He earned certification in interventional pain, anesthetics, and peripheral arterial disease procedures.
He’s licensed to practice medicine in seven states and holds dual board certification in vascular and interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology.
Though Dr. Minkus has been named a Top 10 Doctor by Vitals.com, he’s most proud of receiving the Patient’s Choice and Most Compassionate Doctor awards.
When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Minkus composes music and performs as a drummer, multi-percussionist, and singer. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family and dogs.

Peripheral Artery Disease PAD OFFICIAL Diagnosis & Treatment Support
Very important words from one of the world's experts in Peripheral Arterial Disease. Peripheral Artery Disease Community March 9 at 11:56 PM · What if I asked you this question: Do you walk when you are in pain? You would likely say, "Not as much as I would if I wasn't in pain." People I know with PAD walk more when they find relief after doctors revascularize their leg vessels (restore flow...even a little). But some hospital surgeons released a study recently saying that revascularization (restoring blood flow) could lead to higher rates of amputation. (https://tinyurl.com/s9fpq5z) I'm skeptical. Won't restoring blood flow give a patient relief to walk w/o pain, and therefore help them to grow collateral vessels, & live a better quality life? I believe the study outcomes were a result of 'cherry picking' patients w/a heavy bias on behalf of some hospital surgeons who fear losing business to office-based labs (OBLs). I have spent thousands of hours in hospitals & OBLs observing revascularization procedures. What I've witnessed doesn’t align w/their study results. Other studies the last 25yrs have shown a reduction in amputations due to increased endo procedures w/effective tech innovation (CSI, DABRA, etc). Dr. Jihad Mustapha explains why restoring blood flow can lead to a better quality life for patients & longterm patency and he urges hospitals & OBLs to work together for the sake of better patient outcomes.
Varicose veins is a reality for a large number of the population. There are a couple of ways to treat varicose veins. Exercise and weight loss, devices such as compression socks, vein stripping surgery or Radio frequency catheter ablations or new vein closure sealing with medical adhesives. The last two mentioned techniques are minimally invasive with a great success rate. For more information contact us today. #DrMinkus #IRtreatment
