Cedric Knowlton opened K&K Glass in Davison, Michigan in 1972 where he maintained a successful business until 1981 when he sold the company to move to the warmer climate of Florida. In 1993, Cedric bought the auto glass division of Crystal River Glass in Crystal River, Florida. He named this new company Citrus Auto Glass. In 1997 Citrus Auto Glass purchased another Crystal River Glass and moved both businesses to the Crystal River Glass facility on Hwy 44. Rob Kassabaum became General Manager of Crystal River Glass/Citrus Auto Glass.
Meanwhile in 1994, upon graduating from University of South Florida, Dan Knowlton decided it was a time for a rebirth of K&K Glass and opened his shop in Zephyrhills, Florida. It didn’t take long for K&K Glass to take root. From 1994 to 2003, K&K Glass grew from 2 employees to over 20 and expanded its market from eastern Pasco County to over nine counties.
In 2002, Dan Knowlton bought the Crystal River business from Cedric and decided to unite the two companies to build the K&K brand. In 2006, Dan also purchased Glass Buffett in Dade City and promptly changed the name to K&K Glass and in 2011 K&K Glass opened their Brooksville location.
Today K&K Glass has four physical locations along with six remote locations. K&K services over 25 counties with over 40 employees and offers a wide product line that includes auto glass repair & replacement, residential glass, and commercial glass.
