7 TIPS TO WIN BIDS DURING COVID
1. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE PARTNERS. The last thing anyone wants is to feel taken advantage of when they already feel vulnerable due to covid. By presenting an "We're all in this together attitude." Clients will feel more at ease and be more willing to work with you.
2. BE REASONABLE AND CLEAR. Be very specific and clear about your general condition in your bid. This is not the time to be sneaky. No one wants any more surprises.
3.OFFER OPTIONS. Maybe you can't meet all of their requirements, but you can do compare your prices to the other contractors. Show your clients why you are the best fit for their wallet.
4. WHAT ARE YOUR SAFETY POLICIES? Nowadays clients want to know what you are doing to keep people safe. Be sure to add your updated safety and social distancing policies into your bid.
5. CONSIDER WHAT THE CLIENT IS GOING THROUGH INTERNALLY. Just like you, they most likely have been hit hard by covid and cannot afford multiple delays to their projects. Consider giving a "not to exceed allowance" in your bid.
6. BE UPFRONT ABOUT RISKS. This is not the time to hide anything simply because you want the work. Let the client know what risks are involved so they can prepare for them.
7. USE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. Currently, many people do not feel comfortable visiting sites. Offer to take photos and videos so the client can monitor the projects remotely.
