One popular welding method is called "torch welding." This process involves the use of an oxyacetylene torch to melt both the working material and welding rod, where the welder is able to control the torch and rod simultaneously.
We know it, but many don't, so spread the word. Almost all metal is inherently green, because it can be repeatedly reclaimed, recycled and reused.
Did you know that cast iron can also be manipulated to form intricate and decorative shapes? Instead of hammering the iron though, the shapes are produced by heating the iron in molds of compressed sand.

You probably already know that iron can be used to produce steel, among other things. Care to guess how long people have been using iron to make tools of one type or another? Although there is some minor debate, most experts agree the discovery of iron dates back over 4 millennia.
Cast drill press collar repair! It broke in two places, one break was where the set screw was so we had to use brass so it could be re-tapped. The other break we repaired with a special tig process!
A weld is only as strong as the materials and components involved, so we use the finest materials and best welding techniques available today.
Hardfacing in welding is a process to reduce wear on joined metals to prevent failure of the weld. It entails applying buildup or using wear resistant metals at the weld or joint. Cast iron, stainless steel, manganese steel, and nickel and copper-based alloys can all be hardfaced.
