This was probably my absolute favorite combination of "something borrowed and something old". Rachel's robe was made from the lace off of her mothers wedding dress. How sweet and special is that!? It turned out so beautiful.

Alright people today is a big day around here...
If you know me you know that I always have a hard time letting go of summer. It is hard for me to welcome fall, not because I don't enjoy it, but because it means saying goodbye to many of my favorite things...beach days, longer days, warmth, and a pretty great excuse to have ice cream most days. But this year I am determined to try and be a true New Englander and soak in the beauty of each season. So today I am decorating for fall, burning that fall candle & embracing the season change 🍁

Photographing every aspect of the day is so important to me because photos is what you walk away with when the big celebration has ended. Absolutely in LOVE with this custom gown that features two different looks made by Andria Bird. The first look was a form fitting lace sheath with a silk organza skirt that was so airy and photographed beautifully on the beach. Absolutely perfect for a beach wedding! And during the reception the skirt was removable for a more fitted elegant look.

Christina & Tim had a beautiful New England fall wedding at Tim's family property. It overlooked a lake that reflected the gorgeous fall foliage. I love that Christina & Tim decided to get married at a place that speaks to their roots and is special to them. Everything had a personal touch and intimate feel. Personally, I have been loving these more intimate weddings. I think the smaller scale celebrations have allowed for more meaningful moments, what is most important to the couple is what is included and focused on ❤

Let's talk about two important things you want to consider when planning your wedding day portraits - lighting & location. ✨
These two elements truly have such an impact on your photographs. The best lighting is 2 hours prior to sunset and not all wedding day timelines work out for portraits to take place at that time which is totally fine! You can always schedule in your timeline at least 10 minutes for some golden hour portraits, which I highly recommend!
You also want to think about the location. If the time of day that your portraits is happening is at 12pm - the brightest time of day - you will want to make sure you choose somewhere that has good shade covering. A lot more goes into this than most realize which is why I always love working through the timeline with my couples as well as talking through some great portrait location options.
When Molly and I were discussing location options for their portraits she ended up choosing Elizabeth Park within that golden hour timeframe and it turned out so beautiful! ❤️

One thing I love about scents is that it reminds us of things and takes us back to memories. Like when I smell sugar cookies I think of Christmas and my moms killer recipe. It can take you right back to a specific memory. One thing some of my brides have done that I love is picking a new special perfume for the wedding day. It will forever bring you back to that day when you wear it ❤️
Andrew and I are trying to be more intentional and creative with our date nights as one of our goals and obviously currently with quarantine, covid, Andrew recovering from surgery and just winter in general will make this interesting! Last night was our first one and it was my turn to plan the date night so I made a romantic dinner with a charcuterie board and we started to plan out our 5 year anniversary trip that we never got to take this past year with everything going on. If you know me you know that this location has to include a beach and warm weather and that is about all I care about lol!

What a strange year it has been, I think we are all more than ready for a reset and a new year! In some ways this has felt like such a long year, but in others time has still flown by like it always does. Isn’t this location beautiful! When Hannah & Niall mentioned that they wanted to have their engagement session on her grandma's waterfront property I was so excited because I knew how much meaning this place had to them.
