Dr. Kristal Matlock, M.D. is a pediatric endocrinologist with a passion for helping children and their families. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and specializes in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Dr. Matlock completed her bachelor’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis followed by medical school at University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. She then moved to Ohio for residency and fellowship training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She completed additional training in quality improvement during her residency., , Over the course of her medical career, Dr. Matlock has enjoyed caring for children with general endocrine disorders and also developed her clinical interests in diabetes (including type 1, type 2, neonatal and monogenic/MODY), obesity, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, Cushing syndrome, and congenital hypothyroidism. She has volunteered at diabetes camps and is involved in the American Diabetes Association as an advocate. Her research interests focus on quality improvement in patient care and healthcare outcomes and psychosocial determinants of health. She enjoys teaching and interacting with medical students and residents.,
