The Kumon Program is individualized to meet each child's needs. That means students can move through the levels as quickly or slowly as they need, progressing at their own pace. That flexibility was the key to Adam's success in the program. Having struggled in school due to his Tourettes, ADHD, and Aspergers diagnoses, Kumon gave him the structured support and confidence he needed to get ahead. Here's Adam's story. https://bit.ly/3ljKOvC KUMON.COM Meet Adam - Kumon

At age 11, he is already a Reading Program Completer and is on his way to complete the Math Program this year! https://bit.ly/3laFrPc KUMON.COM Goal Setting and Time Management are Key to This Student’s Early Success - Kumon

We are so excited to announce that Kumon of Charlotte-Ballantyne will be undergoing an expansion and remodeling! We are lucky to have the opportunity to obtain more space adjacent to our center so that we can expand our classroom and operations across a larger center. We will continue to provide updates of the remodel as it is happening. For the duration of the remodel, our operations are shifting to a remote setting. All students will continue to join us for class using Zoom. For many of you, it may have been a while since you have seen the center. Enjoy a few "before" pictures of what our center has looked like for the past few years. We would like to thank all of the families who have stuck with us during this time. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to adapt to these new circumstances. We cannot wait to share our new space with all of you once the remodeling is complete. Check back on Sunday evenings for weekly updates!

The T-shirt design contest is still going on and we would love to receive a design from each of our students. WE HAVE DECIDED TO AWARD 6 ADDITIONAL PAGES IN THE KUMON PASSPORT TO EACH STUDENT THAT SUBMITS A DESIGN. Reminder that all designs must be submitted to alkagarg@ikumon.com by THIS FRIDAY October 30. We look forward to seeing the creative ideas that you all come up with. Our staff has also joined the competition. The winning design will receive a $100 gift card and we are looking at displaying some of the submissions around the center when we reopen. Designs can be drawn on paper or through a digital format.
We’re almost there! Week 4 of the remodeling is complete and the new space is getting close to student-ready. We are excited to be able to open our doors again the week of November 9. This week, brand new ceiling and lighting was installed as well as flooring. New carpet covers the main classroom with wood flooring installed in the lobby and waiting room as well as the bathroom. Storefront glass was set between the different areas of the center. Some painting was done and a new layer of protective laminate for the walls was adhered around the center. Further work on the cabinets and built-ins was completed as well. There is still work to be done but the remodeling is getting very close to completion. The finishing touches will happen over the next two weeks. Further updates on the remodeling progress and procedure for reopening will be communicated over the next couple of weeks. We are also very excited to announce that our center is now on Instagram! Please give us a follow @kumoncharlotteballantyne as we hope to post more frequent updates on all of the amazing work that the students and staff of KOCB are doing! Check back next Sunday for the Week 5 update!

We are officially done with the construction and remodeling at the center! Be sure to take a look at the video posted yesterday evening to get a full look at the center. When you first walk in, you will notice a new lobby and waiting area. For now, this is being used for temperature screening and hand sanitizing to ensure a safe experience for our students and staff. To the left there is a sliding glass window to communicate with staff working in the office, and to the right is an office space for Ms. Alka that will be used for student and parent conferences and lesson planning. When you enter through the lobby door, you enter straight into our expanded main classroom. The shelves that house our worksheets have been moved, and for the time being, desks are configured in a way that maximizes the space, while also maintaining social distancing. The center is equipped with all new flooring, carpeting, lighting, painting, air purification, and wall laminate. We appreciate the flexibility of all of our Kumon families during this time, as we adapt our center operations to the newly renovated space, while adhering to CDC guidelines. Whether you are joining us virtually or in-person, we thank you for trusting us to support your students’ journey in becoming an excellent student and even better self-learner. We hope that you stop in to take a look at the new center!
Final remodeling update! We are so excited about the new center. Take a look!
