We don't know about you, but the shorter days make us want to catch some Zs! Have you ever wondered where the phrase "catch some Zs" came from, anyway?
Well, it's a bit of a long story, but you've probably seen comics use "Zzz" to show that a character is snoring (like with the emoji above)! That's because z is an onomatopoeic representation of the sound.
The first known use of Zzz to represent snoring was in a 1903 comic strip, and it first appeared in a dictionary about 20 years later. Zzz is now commonly used to represent sleeping in animation, which is how the phrase "catch some Zs" evolved!
