We are seeking a Plant Accountant for our facility in Topeka, Kansas.
This position is responsible for all plant related accounting, product costing, cost center management, capital project accounting, tracking and
inventory management. It would also include general ledger accounting, cost accounting and manufacturing variance management. This
position will also assist the Controller with the preparation of the sites' annual plan. This position reports to the Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Costing
-Review variances on a routine basis, discuss with manufacturing personnel and make the necessary adjustments to costing
modules
-Prepare and maintain standard costs as needed
-Prepare and analyze Cost Accounting activities in ERP system
Inventory
-Reconcile inventory accounts by location on a monthly basis
-Review all inventory activity and, if necessary, prepare any inventory accrual entries
-Ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting of inventory and related cost data
-Ensure accuracy, propriety and completeness for inventory a month and year-end basis
-Maintain monthly detail of inventory in-transit listing/logged vouchers
-Prepare monthly analysis of material usage variance
-Work with plant operating teams to identify BOM accuracy improvements
-Coordinate year-end physical inventory process
-Prepare accounting entries for consignment and selected OEM relationships as needed
Project Capital
-Review Capital requests and summarize issues for the Controller
-Manage the workflow of all capital projects
-Prepare month capital reports and reconcile to general ledger activity
-Prepare records to assist in monthly and annual depreciation
Other Responsibilities
-Assist with the preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast projections
-Review all operating expenses and challenge questionable items
-Maintain integrity of general ledger and master data
-Ensure accurate cost center reporting
-Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Education and Experience
-B.A. in Accounting or other relevant field
-CPA preferred
-Two to five years of plant accounting experience required

Out pre-weighed chemical packaging division maintains its proprietary chemical weighing and packaging equipment. Pre-weigh services are utilized by large manufacturing companies requiring precisely weighed chemicals for use in rubber mixing. We provide both product reliability and economic value to a critical component of rubber mixing, that makes your process more efficient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Set up bins for shipping (make sure bins are clear of debris, move on & off line)
• Check the first bag of every bin and document the weight
• Verify that the first bag of every bin has the correct code name
• Inspect bag for foreign material
• Isolate any unused hopper by bagging the outlet chute
• Print Chemical Setup Sheet at the start of each production run
• Remove air from bags and seal (do not tie bags)
• Make sure bags are sealed completely and placed in correct bin
• Assist Lead Operator I as needed during setup of each production run
• Correct problems on the line caused by chemical over/under weights
• Notify Lead Operator I or Supervisor/Scheduler when errors on production line happen repeatedly
• Complies with company policies
• Analyze and resolve work problems and assist in solving work problems using risk management
• Make sure work area stays clean
• Assist where needed
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Employees must report to work and work the designated work schedule-failure to do so creates the inability of our company to meet customers' orders.
