Boasting one of the largest collections of tequilas in New York City, mezcals, and agave spirits, La Biblioteca is intimate, with a hint of mystery. La Biblioteca, which translates to “the library” in Spanish, is the work of internationally-acclaimed Chef Richard Sandoval, who also owns the adjacent Latin-Asian restaurant Zengo.
La Biblioteca is a dim, cozy space that mimics the look & feel of a library adorned with leather books, reading lamps and a tequila “library card” program. Bottles align the walls — all organized in categories — and serve to support the library theme. The catalogue at La Biblioteca features 400 bottles, the works of famed haciendas, small batch distillers and artisanal producers. Guests can rent a private tequila locker to store bottles for up to six months & present their “library card” to the wait staff whenever they’d like to access their stash.
