In this ever increasingly digital world, it’s inevitable that we are spending more and more time on digital devices and so are our kids. We use them at home, in school, in the car, etc. Research shows that the blue-light from digital devices can lead to a host of problems including sleep and eye problems, like eye strain and redness. In addition, there are currently studies being conducted to link blue light and irreversible retinal damage. Talk to our eye doctors and our optical team to ensure you protect your eyes and the eyes of those you love.
Today and every day we thank you and appreciate you for your service!

Our office is equipped with special equipment, eye charts and even developmental assessments to thoroughly examine the visual readiness of your child’s eyes for each step of his or her early years through college and beyond.

HAND SANITIZER SAFETY FOR KIDS The use of hand sanitizer is an important component in preventing infection with the COVID-19 virus, but like everything else in life, it has its drawbacks. When used improperly, hand sanitizers can damage the eyes. Many hand sanitizers, the report noted, have a high concentration of ethanol, which can kill corneal cells. The investigators reported their findings in JAMA Ophthalmology. The doctors offered some practical advice to parents that included emphasizing hand washing with soap and water instead of hand sanitizer and training children in the appropriate use of hand sanitizers. The authors concluded that “despite the importance of alcohol-based hand sanitizers for controlling the spread of coronavirus disease, these agents should be used with caution and likely kept away from young children.”
