Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires 4 to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training in addition to dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Arthur Johnson manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions.
Dr. Arthur Johnson received his DDS from The University of Michigan in 1993. After completing a General Residency Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he earned his Medical Degree in 1998.
On completing residency training, Dr. Johnson worked in private practice in California for one year, whereupon he returned to his native Michigan to work in Private practice. The appeal and experience of working in California eventually drew Dr. Johnson to return to California. Dr. Johnson has been practicing in Southern California since 2001. He currently maintains hospital affiliation at Irvine Regional Medical Center. In addition Dr. Johnson volunteers with Health Care International where he provides medical and dental care to the undeserved regions of Jamaica.
Dr. Johnson practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, facial deformities and reconstruction, obstructive sleep apnea, as well as facial cosmetic surgery. He is especially interested in dental implants, with 10 years of experience using 6 different systems. His attention to detail and philosophy of providing optimal, quality care with the least amount of invasive surgery has earned him trust from patients and confidence from referring doctors.
Dr. Johnson maintains hospital privileges at Mission Hospital/ Children’s Hospital of Orange County (C.H.O.C.). Dr. Johnson is Board Certified by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
