We are excited to finally unveil all our new products for this next chapter of the #OFS2020experience. Introducing new expansions to the Heya family, Kasura family, and Harpin line, as well as Oryn and Strap, two fun new additions to our occasional tables and café chairs.

Project Spotlight: Fayetteville Public Library - Circulation Department
We're honored to play a small part in this exciting time for the Fayetteville Public Library. They will soon be completing a huge expansion that "will serve as a forefront of learning and cultivation for individuals, non-profits and local businesses." In the Circulation department, which is located in the existing building, we installed open-plan workstations which are equipped with sit-to-stand desks and minimal storage. The Private Office required quite a bit more storage so we provided pedestals to meet filling needs and overheads for binders and books. Stay tuned, we'll be sharing other areas from the Library over the next couple of months!

Today, we're celebrating the first true Knoll designer, Jens Risom, who joined Hans Knoll's new furniture company in the 1940's as the sole designer of interiors and furniture. His early designs were born out of wartime necessity, but went on to become signature midcentury modern designs. The Risom Collection was the first one designed for and manufactured by Knoll. It quickly put Knoll on the map and remains one of their most popular designs to this day.

Project Spotlight: Fayetteville Public Library - Admin Department and Children's Workroom
Last week we finished up our install at the Fayetteville Public Library with the Admin Department and Children's Workroom. These areas are a little different than what we showed previously. We provided L-shape workstations with a height adjustable desk and fixed return. Instead of convenience power grommets at the worksurface we added beltway power in the panels for easy plug and play. We're excited for the Library as they near their grand reopening!

We all want to be more sustainable, don't we? Well look at this cool new collection from FROVI - Bamboo. It has a minimalistic silhouette that is great for zoning, organizing, or showcasing. It has been designed using the most eco-friendly and low-impact materials. The main component is Bamboo, which is actually carbon negative (neat, right?!), and the connectors are 100% recycled nylon. FROVI takes it a step further by packing everything in 100% recycled cardboard. Project Spotlight: Subiaco Academy - Alumni Hall Renovation
This project was such a fun collaboration with WDD Architects. They came to us looking for furniture that not only functioned in the labs, classrooms and collaboration spaces but that also held up to teenage boys...AND it needed to be colorful. We were able to check all the boxes by blending products from a few different manufacturers. We're excited for Subiaco to start using the space once the new semester starts in 2021.

All through the showroom, not a creature was stirring not even a Rusty. The samples were hung by the rings with care. While little old Fin settled in for a long warm bath (In the yummiest hot chocolate). With a deep breath, he turned and said Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Knoll Designer Spotlight: David Rockwell
David Rockwell is the founder of the Rockwell Group. They not only design innovative built environments, but they also create experiences inspired by live performance. Rockwell actually won the Tony for Best Scenic Design in 2016 for the musical She Loves Me. He took his decades of experience and applied it in his collaboration with Knoll, which resulted in the Rockwell Unscripted collection. Recently Knoll has released some great enhancements to this series - our favorite by far is the Backdrop Mobile Markerboard. Did you know that the original color of St. Patrick's Day was blue?! This was due to the saint often being depicted dressed in this color. But in the 18th century after the shamrock became Ireland's national symbol, green was adopted by St. Patrick's Day festivities. This color also calls to mind Ireland's lush landscape which earned them their nickname as "The Emerald Isle". Additionally, green has political ties as it's associated with Irish nationalism and is even a symbol of rebellion. So today as you wear green to avoid getting pinched by your colleague, remember that's it's also a symbol of Ireland's rich history.
