"Within hours of the Sept. 11 attacks, thousands of rescue workers from across America deployed to ground zero to help in the search and rescue efforts. Joining the endeavor, were dogs specially trained in search and rescue, police work, therapy and comfort. It is estimated that more than 300 dogs took part in the search, rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero."
Today we want to honor all those who served and lost their lives during September 11th, 2001. Including, the amazing heroes and their canine counterparts who spent tireless hours searching for those lost in the rubble. We are still so thankful to those first responders who saved so many. We will never forget those who were lost ❤️

It may not be #vettechweek2020 anymore but everyday should be with our amazing Veterinary Technician Staff. We wanted to spotlight one of our favorites Kalene. Kalene has been a part of the LCAC family since 2012. She was even interviewed before we had a building in our empty lot! She started as a Kennel Assistant and has become one of the most knowledgeable Veterinary Technicians.
Kalene and her husband Andrey have 4 dogs and 2 cats. They have been married almost 1 year in November.
Kalene brings such fun and silliness to our office. She always makes us laughs even in the toughest moments. She has a special passion for senior cats, senior dogs, and guinea pigs. At one point she even rescued 17 guinea pigs! Kalene loves big and takes care of each animal she encounters. We are so thankful for her friendship, dedication, and humor.
Thank you Kalene for all you do for our LCAC family! We love you big! We appreciate you sticking around after all these years! 😘 ❤
Today's #vettechweek2020 spotlight is Caroline Marlow. Caroline has been a part of the LCAC family since 2015. She was a Kennel Assistant first and then became a Veterinary Technician. She is also our amazing Kennel Manager!
Caroline is the person who can make anyone laugh. She's always there on a busy, sad, or stressful day to lighten the mood. She is also an incredibly hard worker. She's the kind of person who comes to work on her off day to pick up limbs that have fallen to ensure safety for our clients and the people in the LCAC neighborhood. The kind of person who gets a dog bite on her hand one day and is ready to work the next day. She goes above and beyond for our clinic in so many ways.
Thank you so much for all you do Marlow! We are so thankful for your hard work/dedication and humor. Our LCAC family wouldn't be the same without you!
Today's #vettechweek2020 spotlight is Maddie. Maddie has been a part of the LCAC family since 2015. She started as a Kennel Assistant and has recently become a star Vet Tech!
Maddie and her family have played a huge part in the Hoover and LCAC community. She has Indigo "Indi” a 2 year old playful and sweet shepherd. The two are the perfect pair.
She brings so much sunshine to our clinic. Her positive attitude always make any crazy day better. Maddie is always there to step in whenever needed. She goes above and beyond in each task she takes on, and is always ready to help. She cares so deeply for not only the animals who enter our clinic but also the people.
We are so proud of this next step for Maddie and can't wait to see her shine! Thank you so for all you do Maddie!
Today's #vettechweek2020 spotlight is Sarah Wesleigh. Sarah Wesleigh has been a part of our LCAC family since 2014. She first started as a kennel assistant, moved to receptionist, and then was asked to be a Veterinary Technician.
She currently has 5 dogs and 2 cats. She lives with her husband Isaiah, son Cohen, and has a little girl on the way!
Sarah Wesleigh is known for her beautiful and kind soul. She radiates compassion and love with everyone and every animal she encounters. She is the perfect person in moments of crisis because she maintains such peace. She has a sweet spot for rescue pets and exotics. Our LCAC family wouldn't be the same without this wonderful woman.

Today's #vettechweek2020 spotlight is Charlie. Charlie has worked at LCAC since 2013. She is often known as our "red-head" but there is so much more to this remarkable woman.
Charlie and her husband have Babe Ruth, who is so lovable, fun, and rambunctious. Charlie loves the outdoors and nature but loves animals even more.
She has experience with dogs, cats, and even exotic animals. She brings such peace to our team. Charlie is always ready to step in and help in moments that seem too busy or stressful. We often find her helping anywhere in the clinic that may need it. She goes above and beyond in everything that she does.
We are so grateful and lucky to have her as part of our family. Thank you so much Charlie for being you in everything you do!
Our first spotlight for #vettechweek2020 is one of our newest Veterinary Technicians, Haley. She is so wonderful with people and animals. She recently adopted the sweetest rescue pup, Meeko, from Two by Two Animal Rescue.
We are so thankful for her hard work, humor, and patience. Thank you Haley for all you do and continue to do!
