Lake Family Dental 17 March at 23:03 · Lake Family Dental has and will continue to take the health and safety of our patients seriously. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led to challenges to our everyday life as well as the dental profession. The Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, and the Minnesota Dental Association have issued recommendations for dental offices to cease all elective or non-emergent treatments. These include regular orthodontic (braces) procedures, fillings, bleaching, and cleanings. We will be working diligently after these restrictions are lifted to assist our patients in receiving their regular care and previously scheduled procedures. Examples of emergent dental situations could include patients experiencing dental pain, broken teeth, or facial swelling. If you have questions or concerns about a potential dental emergency, please call our office at 218-386-1048, as we will be keeping our regular hours in order to be available for such situations. If you reach us after hours, please leave a message with your name, question or concern, and contact information so that we may return your call. Lake Family Dental continues to comply with and exceed CDC recommendations and guidelines for providing a safe environment for patients and staff. Doctors, assistants, and hygienists will continue to wear protective surgical gowns while treating patients. We began this policy several years ago and have continued to wear these to protect staff and patients alike. These gowns are removed after each appointment and laundered on-site in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and CDC regulations. These gowns ensure that any spray or particles associated with treating patients are isolated to that appointment and not potentially spread to another patient. We take these precautions because we are committed first and foremost to patient care and safety while receiving treatment in our office. Thank you to our patients and the community for your patience and understanding.
