Taking good care of your teeth during orthodontic treatment is critically important. Avoid tooth decay, inflamed gums, cavities, and discoloration! Keep your smile bright!
Unfortunately, with the resurgence of Covid-19 in west Michigan we have had a team member test positive for the virus. Even though the team member was not in the office this week, we have decided to reschedule all of the remaining appointments to ensure there are no other team members that start showing symptoms. We realize this is a stressful time for everyone. Fortunately, after discussing our situation with the health department, they do not feel our patients are at risk because of the strict sterilization and infection control procedures used in the office. Dear Lakeshore Orthodontics patients and families,
We hope you all are staying safe and doing well in these unprecedented times. The reason for this letter is that we would like to personally thank you for how adaptable you all have been since the start of the COVID pandemic. We strive to provide an exceptional experience at every step of your care. We work very hard to stay on schedule so that you can be seen at your scheduled appointment time. We realize over the past few months, some of you have been inconvenienced by rescheduled appointments and/or having to wait longer than expected to be seen once you arrive at our office. We want you all to know that we appreciate you as patients and friends and we respect that your time is valuable in today’s busy world.
The resurgence of the COVID-19 virus has created a few additional obstacles and we hope you can continue to be patient with us as we navigate these challenges. Our team takes your health and safety very seriously and our office strictly follows the recommended infection control policies required to keep you and our team members safe. Unfortunately, the prevalence of the virus around us means that the likelihood of coming in contact with someone that is positive continues to increase. As you probably know, anyone that tests positive, must isolate for a minimum of 10 days from the positive test date and anyone that has been in close contact to someone that tests positive for the virus must isolate for 14 days from that contact date. If a team member needs to isolate due to contact tracing, that can leave us shorthanded.
Orthodontic care is unique from most other dental procedures because it is an ongoing process that takes place over multiple visits. This means our schedule is usually set weeks in advance for those routine adjustments, and if any unforeseen schedule changes must be made, it can become difficult to always stay on schedule.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. You have all been great throughout this crazy time. We also appreciate how you have treated our team members, especially the front desk team, that has the difficult job of rescheduling appointments when needed. Hopefully, this will all be behind us soon!
