Every Friday in the month of February, we're going to highlight four influential African Americans who have changed the world in honor of Black History Month. Our first spotlight is on Medgar Evers, a Civil Rights Activist and WWII Veteran in Mississippi.
After receiving his BA in Business Administration and serving in World War II, Evers fought to overturn segregation and create opportunities for African Americans. These rights included voting rights, access to public facilities and economic opportunity. In 1963, Evers was assassinated by a white supremacist, urging multiple civil rights protests that inspired numerous works of music, art and film. Today, we honor Medgar Evers and his fight for freedom, unity and justice. #MedgarEvers #BlackHistoryMonth
