The health and well-being of your pet is our top priority. As news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our communities continues to develop, we are monitoring the situation closely. At this time, our clinic remains open and is operating under regular business hours. While the CDC and other health authorities have indicated that dogs, cats, and other domestic animals are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of humans within our clinic— notably our clients and staff. If you are ill or experiencing flu-like symptoms and have an upcoming appointment, we kindly ask that you call us to reschedule. If your pet requires urgent care or has a medical emergency, and you are ill, please arrange for a trusted friend, neighbor, or healthy family member to transport your pet to our clinic. If you call ahead, we will gladly accommodate your representative and make appropriate arrangements. According to the most recent information available from the CDC, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. However, out of an abundance of caution, we’ve implemented this request so we can continue caring for your pets while protecting the health of our caregivers. For more information and health guidance regarding COVID-19, please visit the CDC or WHO websites. For additional questions, please contact us at 608-236-4570, or mailbag@lakeviewvetclinic.com Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you and your pet soon, The team at Lakeview Veterinary Clinic
Happy National Dog Week! Spoil your dog a little bit extra this week to thank them for all the special love and comfort that they provide for us! We love you!
What was routine pre-COVID is now time-consuming and difficult, leading to longer than normal wait times at our clinic and limited interaction between our veterinary staff and clients. Today for Worldwide Gratitude Day we would like to thank our pet parents for your patience during these difficult times and entrusting us with the care of your beloved pet! We appreciate your ongoing support.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting a new pet this week, consider the ones who aren’t given an equal chance if you are able to. They too have a lot of love to offer!

Capital K9s November 16 at 9:11 PM · TOMORROW: Join us for a live Q&A session with Patrol Ofc. Emily House and her partner, K9 Archie. They'll share information about safety mechanisms Madison Police Department K9s rely on while on-the-job, and about the safety gear we hope to purchase with funds raised through our Giving Tuesday campaign coming up on December 1st. After Giving Tuesday, we hope to outfit each of our K9 Handlers' squads with Hot-N-Pop® Door Poppers and Heat Alarms from Ace K9 -- and purchase the annual subscription required for each squad with the device. Each device helps to ensure a K9 stays safe from overheating in their squad between calls, and creates a fast way for a K9 to spring into action when needed. We want to equip all our K9s, just like Archie here, to work safely so they return to their families at the end of every shift! 🐾 We look forward to you turning in tomorrow night! And -- thank you so much for all of your support. Every contribution is very appreciated. Click here to join the FB Live event tomorrow: https://fb.me/e/4Lb4Buh2G
We are very excited to welcome Dr. Kristin Levins to the Lakeview team! She will start seeing appointments on November 16th! Dr. Levins graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2008 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. After vet school, she completed an emergency focused internship at a specialty hospital in the greater Milwaukee region. She decided to take a break from winters and moved to Honolulu with continued work in emergency medicine until 2019 when she transitioned into general practice. A move back to Madison has allowed Dr. Levins to join the Lakeview team. Dr. Levins really enjoys meeting and creating long-term relationships with both owners and pets. While a “cat person” at heart, she is a sucker for dogs too. Outside work, her activities include reading, traveling and exploring new cities, scuba diving, taking too many pictures of her cats, taste testing delicious food (especially cheese and sweets), and chasing around her toddler.
We believe in showing love and gratitude year-round, but perhaps now is the perfect time. We are still experiencing slightly longer wait times, and ask that you show gratitude towards our hard-working staff. Your pet’s health is our #1 priority, and we appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you!

We were recently alerted to a Facebook scam regarding the sale of puppies that names us as the care provider for the puppies. The scammer asks for a down payment on the puppy which is paid through an app. When the purchaser inquired about further information about the puppies, they were informed that their care and vaccinations were provided by us. This information is not true and we did not provide any of the care that was claimed. The purchaser then tried to obtain all of the seller's information again only to find the Facebook deleted. These sellers may also be telling people that they will do the exchange in our parking lot. We have also heard of other recent scams naming other facilities/rescues in the area. We are so sorry to those that have been affected by these scams and are saddened to know that there are people willing to scam others in such a manner!
