Holidays are often difficult for survivors. Maybe you are trying to make the best of it for your kids after fleeing abuse. Maybe you are returning to a family where past abuse occurred, where you were not believed or supported. Maybe you are grieving a relationship or future that is no longer possible because of your partner’s abuse. Maybe you lost that family member or friend who always had your back.
Whatever you are navigating this holiday season, we love these tips from @whatsyourgrief . It’s ok to cry, it’s ok to set boundaries, it’s ok to say no, it’s ok to embrace happiness without feeling guilty, and its a great idea to come up with a mini self care plan for yourself, or to build in some quick self care breaks to walk, breathe, call a friend, or smell a scent you love.
