Loki, an 8 month old English Bulldog was referred to LVS last week for endoscopy to remove a squeaker ball that he ingested earlier in the day. His family veterinarian was able to induce vomiting which resulted in him bringing up one of the two balls. Endoscopy was performed to retrieve the other ball and to our surprise the ball greeted us with a smile. It was removed safely and Loki was able to go home the same day! Can you spot the ball in the radiograph? 😊
We've had several patients finish their chemotherapy protocols recently! We always have a "pawty" to celebrate their awesome accomplishment. Pictured: Boomer, Mia, Savannah and Bailey (we promise Savannah is happy- she just has a hard time showing it 😉) #cancersucks

Another brave patient "Cookie" was the recipient of the TLC program from Animal Care PA. Cookie had to have a surgery called bilateral medial patellar luxation correction. Luxating patella means that the knee cap slips out of the joint where it should be which can cause discomfort. (Pictured: surgery veterinary nurse Meredith and Cookie). What is a heart murmur? 💗
A heart murmur is a disturbance of blood flow that causes an abnormal sound that can be heard with a stethoscope and at times, felt through the chest if it is severe enough. A murmur is typically graded on a scale from a 1-6 with the latter being the most severe. Pets who have a heart murmur can live a normal life but should be monitored for progression of heart disease. Your veterinarian would diagnose your pet and may refer you to see a veterinary cardiologist. Our cardiology department is capable of doing an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) and an electrocardiogam (ECG) to help determine if your pet is in need of further care or cardiac medications. #LVS #veterinarycardiology #vetmed #vettech
