A couple position openings
From the Pastor: I don't normally put prayer requests on Facebook. Today I am making an exception for that rule. I'd appreciate the prayers for me Sunday as I preach at Larkin Avenue Baptist Church at 10:30 am. I've been in the ministry for a little over forty years (yes, I'm that old), and I'd have to rate Sunday's message probably the most significant in my ministry. I'm not resigning; quite the contrary. I'd love to have you stop by and join us if you are local. If not, I'd invite you to join us on Facebook. I'm pretty much going with a manuscript so I won't chase too many rabbits. It is really important. Thanks, in advance, for the prayers.
Thanks for all who prayed today for the pastor. In his message, which he admits was rather long, he said that he believed that it is time for Larkin Avenue Baptist Church to close its door. Those who are interested in a new church would begin meeting as a prayer group for several months, and then there would be the birth of a new church. He compared this process to that which a caterpillar goes through as there is a cocoon and then a beautiful butterfly emerges. The pastor presented this vision for the new church: "My vision for the new church is that it will be a multicultural,
multi-generational, group of praying, disciple-making, soul winners. Of course, the ultimate decision on this will begin with the members of Larkin Avenue Baptist Church. The majority of members present in today's worship service expressed interest in going this direction. Please continue to pray for the church and pastor, and for God's guidance.
Our apologies for the audio difficulties of the past two Sundays. We will do our best to make sure that things are better next week. Maybe Satan has just been working a little harder lately.
