Lauren Golfer is a women’s health nurse practitioner with a diverse background in well-woman care. Her true passion is caring for women across the lifespan. Her approach to compassionate care is informed by her belief in a strong relationship between patient and provider.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Lauren began her career in marketing and grant writing, and received a degree from the University of Maryland, as part of the College Park Scholars Program. She soon realized she wanted to work directly with the patients for whom she was writing grants, and went back to school to study nursing at New York University. She spent several years working in women’s health before graduating with honors from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Downstate Community at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Her focuses include pelvic exams, gynecologic disease management, and LGBTQ care.
She is a member of NPWH, the premiere organization for Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, as well as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
