To our patient family, As we approach the May 20th reopening date I want you to know that we are preparing the office to resume routine care by taking every possible precaution to ensure your safety. We are eager to get started, but at the same time being very cautious. At about one week prior to your scheduled appointment, we will contact you for a pre-appointment screening. Depending on the outcome of that screening, we may ask you to reschedule to a later date. When you arrive at our building at your scheduled appointment time we ask that you call us either from your car or outside before entering the building to ensure that it is possible to maintain social distancing and that we have properly prepared the treatment area. Prior to entering our office, we ask that you wash your hands with soap and water in the bathroom in the hallway. We will leave that door propped open so you will have direct access. We also ask that you wear a mask and respect proper social distancing rules. Upon entering the office you will have your temperature taken, and we will go over any changes to your medical history prior to receiving care. Once in the office, you will notice some cosmetic changes, but more importantly, many enhancements specifically to deal with COVID 19. All magazines and toys have been removed from the waiting area, and the fabric waiting room chairs are covered in a plastic barrier so they can be disinfected, in-between patients. We have hand sanitizer located all throughout the office. We have made enhancements to our office and standard operating procedures which will make it highly unlikely to transmit the virus following the ADA, CDC, and OSHA guidelines. Since this virus is airborne, we have added special medical-grade air filtration to our office and will utilize constant mouth suction during your care. Treatment rooms will be sealed off during care. You will also notice we will be wearing additional personal protective equipment; and have identified additional steps necessary to properly disinfect treatment and common areas in-between patients. We will be operating on a much lighter schedule than normal. We are aware that many people are fearful to go out in public, much less return to the dentist as we are still in this pandemic. I hope this letter finds you well and will give you some reassurance. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our office. 860-347-4500.
