While I understand the need to keep some violent individuals behind bars, this sort of behavior by prosecutors is NOT acceptable. Courts have adopted strategies that account for the danger posed by COVID-19, especially in the jail setting, by reducing the required bail. Instead of following that example however, some prosecuting agencies are trying to find loopholes to get around the intent and purpose temporary bail schedules adopted by courts. This sort of behavior endangers everyone, from those arrested, to jail workers, to court staff, to attorneys and even to prosecutors.
