This afternoon, I was in court on an open plea to the judge. My client was charged with felony DWI and had been to prison years ago for an aggravated assault and burglary. In my experience the charge with that history would result in prison time. The DA offered 4 years in prison. We decided to do the open plea and proceeded with witness testimony for the punishment phase.
After testimony and argument, my client was granted 5 years probation. I love fighting for my clients' best interests.
