JURY DUTY UPDATE:
Due to the coronavirus (Covid -19) crisis, the Nueces County Board of Judges unanimously agreed to cancel all jury trials through April 20th. The Courts will continue to have hearings on our jail cases and essential emergency hearings while adhering to the CDC recommendations of ten or less people in a room. Our first priority will always be the safety of our community. Please share so we can get the word out. Stay safe everyone.

Justice was served today in the federal courthouse on a horrific sexual abuse of a child case. I was just there to observe and offer support for a child client of mine, (who I represent in a different matter than the one today). I never get to go to the Federal Courthouse, and it is unbelievably gorgeous.
I am so proud of this young lady’s bravery in facing her abuser and reading her Victim Impact Statement to the Court. The Defendant got the maximum sentence allowed - 50 years.
Kudos to the very skilled prosecutor in this case, who blew us all away with her work today. She is truly amazing.
