I had a very moving request yesterday in Paris General Sessions Court. A man walked up to me and handed me his POW medal from Vietnam. Told me that he knew I was a combat veteran and would understand the meaning. He asked if I would keep his medal throughout the court process and asked me to protect his son (my client). I told him it was an honor and took the medal. Thanks to an assistant DA with a plethora of common sense and experience we were able to get his son’s charges dismissed. We even had a jovial dialogue going with the adverse parties afterwards. I’m very humbled and thankful for this experience. Marcus Lipham

To carry on a tradition we started 6 years ago in an effort to make sure all our citizens get to ring in the new year and arrive home safe, the Gibson County Sheriff's Office will be glad to take you home that night. No questions asked, just give dispatch a call at 692-3714 and tell us where you are. We'd rather you make it home safely to your house, than end up in our house!
Happy New Year

Young Lives Post:
Jackson area friends. It looks like Young Lives may have the opportunity to reach some young moms in Humboldt. I have one leader who is heavily invested in the community but if this goes forward I would love to have one or two more women who would like to mentor teen moms in the Humboldt area. If you know someone who...
1) lives in or is otherwise passionate about the Humboldt area
2) loves Jesus and would like to help others get to know Him
3) has a heart for teen moms and would like to see them loved well and pointed to Christ
Please reach out to me or pass my information along.
I am confident that if God opens the doors for us to serve in Humboldt he will raise up leaders to join us. Maybe you know someone that could help?
