My name is Jim White. I grew up in a working class, blue collar neighborhood in Cranston RI. One of five children my parents taught me the value of hard work, education and the need to help those less fortunate. While attending BU I worked one, and sometimes two jobs. I graduated BU in 1982 with a degree in Business. I continued at BU School of Law graduating with a JD degree in 1985.
Upon graduation I began working for a small plaintiffs' PI firm which also specialized in workers compensation. From 1987 until 1992 I worked as ‘Inhouse Counsel' defending insurance companies and their insureds. Defending insurance companies was an invaluable experience. It gave me the opportunity to witness first hand how insurers evaluate and defend claims. I tried numerous motor vehicle accident and personal injury cases in District Court; Superior Court and Federal Court, 1st Circuit.
