PIP/ FIRST PARTY OFFICE
Feasterville/NE Philadelphia busy litigation personal injury law firm seeks experienced individual/paralegal with an insurance and/or a personal injury background to head and lead our first party pre-litigation department.
Duties to include:
- Meeting and signing up clients at case inception;
- Reviewing and opening all new files for the firm and inputting information into Needles (case management program);
- Requesting incident reports, obtaining insurance policies and waivers, reporting claims and notifying insurance adjusters and medical providers;
- Notifying potential lien-holders of claims and receiving lien information;
- Sending letters of representation, spoliation letters, letters of protection;
- Settling property damage claims and preparing applications for benefits and affidavits of no insurance;
- Preparing and sending any and all correspondence regarding the initial stages of the case;
- Contacting clients regarding initial treatment and to obtain client’s treating doctors information and records;
- Opening physical case files and managing files until all tasks required of the first party department are completed.
Experience Required:
- 5-10 years of insurance industry and/or personal injury law firm experience;
- Must understand the insurance industry - all facets of 1st and 3rd party claims including PIP, property damage and tort status requirements in Pennsylvania and New Jersey;
- Must understand claims against property owners, cities and municipalities;
- Knowledgeable about Medicare and ERISA;
- Ability to work independently and lead the first party department with supervision;
- Ability to multi-task in a busy and challenging work environment;
- Organizational skills with attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- A second language is helpful, but not required;
- MS Word / MS Outlook and NEEDLES law office management software proficiency.
MUST have experience working with a high-volume practice -- inexperienced applicants need not apply.
