This month we are showcasing the Little Suzy Blackeyed Susan! Little Suzy boasts a more compact version yet equally long bloom time. Bright, golden-yellow flowers begin in July and bloom through October with proper care. The black seed heads add contrast to the fall and winter gardens if left up. Blackeyed Susan makes a lovely addition to the pollinator garden and is deer and rabbit resistant!

During the summer months, Winterberry serves well as a green backdrop to other summer blooming plants. And in the fall and winter, it is known for its showy red berries. This month's plant is the Japanese Spurge or Pachysandra. It is a durable ground cover that is suited to many landscape themes. A dense, evergreen ground cover, Japanese Spurge thrives in shady, and when given time, it will carpet the ground. It is an excellent alternative to turf or mulch in those tough to grow shady locations. As a bonus, Japanese Spurge becomes covered in fragrant, white bottlebrush flowers in April.
