Why are fence prices high? Because lumber prices are on the rise again hovering around $800 per 1000 feet. Let's walk through the chart below to give you an understanding. #1 Price drop due to Covid and the shutdown. #2 Spike in Lumber as supply ran low #3 Highest spike of 2020 in September. Supply low while demand was high. #4 Saw drop in November as demand came down. #5 Lumber is going to be high in 2021 as the demand goes up. We suspect Lumber will continue to stay high during 2021. Looking at the chart, pre-Covid Lumber was around $475. Lumber continued it's steady rise until the November drop, but the $500 price was still higher than the pre-Covid price. Overall the price of Lumber has continued an upward trend into higher pricing. What does this mean for you? We will be increasing our per foot prices by $1 to $3 depending on Lumber pricing.
