The accounting firm of Lee A. White and Associates was established on June 15, 1990 as a sole proprietorship. The firm is in compliance with the registration and permit requirements to engage in the practice of public accounting within the state of Vermont. The firm specializes in CPA work such as audits, compilations, and reviews, bookkeeping and accounting services and prepares corporate, partnership, trust and estate tax returns. The firm employs staff accountants and will employ other accountants as needed. Individual taxes and accounting write-up work are performed through a related subsidiary, White & Associates. Both businesses are now subsidiaries of White & Associates, Inc.. The combination of both organizations employs approximately 7-9 people. The firms presently employ four CPA's. Lee A. White CPA, CFP, PFS is the managing CPA of the firm and has been providing accounting and auditing services since 1978. Mr. White passed all four parts of the CPA test on his first attempt in November of 1992 and was officially licensed by the State of Vermont as a CPA on March 23, 1984. Mr. White was licensed as a Certified Financial Planner and a Personal Financial Specialist in 1995. Mr. White's work experience includes four years 1979-1982 spent auditing with the Auditor of Accounts office. Two years 1982-1984, were spent with a small local firm in Barre, VT which specialized in taxes and write up work. Additional experience was obtained by working for a larger firm of about 20 in Burlington, VT from 1984-1985. That firm specialized in audits of both local governments, schools, other non-profit organizations. The next five years were spent with Urbach, Kahn & Werlin, a CPA firm based out of Albany, NY but located in Burlington, VT who at that time were one of the 25 largest accounting firms in the country. His level of concentration was primarily in auditing with his specialty being non-profits
