What does value mean to you as a consumer? Personally when I’m shopping or considering a purchase I will pay more for certain goods or services if the right value is shown or expressed. At Legacy, value is at the heart of everything we do. I can confidently say that how we approach answering the phone or greeting clients in person is in the upper echelon for our area. What’s the value there? Simply put, kind and friendly faces who want to help resolve your issues with no strings attached estimates, no high pressure sales tactics and removing as much stress from the automotive repair process as possible. Speaking of which, let’s talk about loaner cars. I’m sure many of you have thought to yourself how in the world are you going to get you car fixed AND still make it to work on time. We’ve got you covered! What bigger value could one ask for other than a company taking that burden off of them so they can go about their day or multiple days if needed in a FREE loaner car? Swing by the shop or give Jarrod or Danny a call so we can give you the superior experience you deserve.
What is a brake bleed? A brake bleed is the process of removing air from the brake lines to restore your brake system to its best. Over time, small amounts of air can become trapped in your vehicle’s brake line. Air in the brake lines can decrease the effectiveness of your brakes significantly. If your brakes feel soft or spongy, you may need a brake bleed.
Are you familiar with your vehicle’s owner’s manual? It may be collecting dust in your glove compartment. However, the owner’s manual contains important information regarding your vehicle’s proper maintenance intervals and features. Know how to reference it!
Ever wonder how far your car can continue traveling on an empty tank? While it can vary anywhere from 30 to 50 miles, driving on an empty tank can actually damage your fuel pump and clog the fuel filter. Try to fill your gas when you get down to a quarter tank full.
Tire blowouts can be scary and hard to navigate. To correctly handle a blowout, keep the wheel straight, wait for the vehicle to slow down, and stay calm. The best way to avoid a blowout is to keep your tires at the proper inflation pressure. Check your tire pressure at least once a month! Experiencing car trouble during a road trip is never ideal. Having preventative maintenance performed before your road trip can give you peace of mind and allow you to avoid the headache that comes with car trouble away from home. Did you know that driving with excess junk in your trunk can have an effect on your vehicle? An overloaded vehicle can: - Decrease fuel efficiency - Wear out your shocks and struts - Wear down your tires faster - Put your engine at risk of overheating - Put you at risk for a tire blowout - Reduce the effectiveness of your brakes Keep your trunk empty and your vehicle clean to better maintain your vehicle overall.
We proudly use BG products in the shop. I wanted to showcase the 44k Platinum product. It’s one of the easiest and most cost effective ways you can restore performance, restore fuel efficiency, increase power output and reduce exhaust emissions. 44k is BG’s longest running product and it’s formula is proprietary to them only. There are several aftermarket options but none of them do EXACTLY what 44k does all in one bottle. Take a quick look at the YouTube link below as well as the before and after picture. Let us know if you have any questions! https://youtu.be/L84gHGPW2S0
Today we wanted to talk about brakes. A lot of times there is more to brake repair than just getting your pads replaced! Rotors will give you some sure signs of needing to be replaced such as pulsation in your steering wheel or brake pedal and even a loud grinding noise. When you apply the brakes and you feel the car being pulled to one side or the other you could have a caliper problem which needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Our digital inspections do a great job of visually finding issues as well as feeling them on a test drive. Make sure to mention any concerns you have when booking the appointment. Here is a quick visual guide to brake pad life and an example of a damaged rotor where the brake pad is worn so low it causes metal to metal contact which creates the severe grinding noise you hear and feel.
Are you experiencing your car pulling one direction or the other? Does the ride quality not feel quite right? If so, you very well could need an alignment or even new tires. Our alignment process makes sure all steering and suspension components are in proper working order while also checking for improper tire wear. All of these items are key to safety and a smooth ride. It's getting to that time of year where having proper tire life is important! Give us a call or stop by to schedule your look over and our digital inspection will let you know of any areas of concern.
We wanted to reach out today to everyone after Saint Louis county’s announcement of new restrictions. We are considered an essential business and wanted to assure everyone we are open normal hours and taking precautions to keep everyone safe. Masks will be worn when interacting with customers and all social distancing procedures to the best of our ability. We also have a sanitizing station in the customer lobby. Please call with any questions or concerns and we will accommodate you and your loved ones however we can.
We truly can’t express enough how much we value our clients! The personal interactions and relationships we’ve built is what drives us everyday. We thoroughly enjoy seeing each and every one of you and your families that we’ve gotten to know over the years and sincerely value your time and choices!
See that odometer that says over 300,000 miles? This customer is a courier for a living and is very meticulous with his maintenance. The original engine and transmission are still running strong due to proper maintenance intervals. A properly maintained vehicle is an investment you can’t lose on. This 2009 all wheel drive V8 will keep on going for quite a while still.
With the upcoming extreme cold the next few days we wanted to give some helpful tips! - Let your vehicle idle/warm up for AT LEAST 60 seconds to get the fluids moving around properly (if you park outside, idling for 10-15 min to get the inside warm will not hurt anything) - You might hear some noises you never have before such as squeaks or squeals - Make sure your coolant level is where it needs to be to provide proper cabin heat And as always give us a call if you have any questions or needs!
Here’s a new video with some interesting info not everyone knows about

We had a fantastic gift from a long time client! 30lbs of deer meat! We heard deer tacos was a thing so we decided to try it for lunch today. Came out great! 🌮🌮🍽
Here's some examples of the other fun stuff we get into around the shop. Now, we don't always have time for these types of projects but give us a call if you have a similar need and we'll get an appointment lined up for you. New Honda engine on a log splitter, full service for a Can-am 4wheeler including new tires, rear cv axle replacement and a tune up on a generator. We also will work on side by sides!
