Liberty Trading Post updated their business hours.
Due to current circumstances, we feel it’s important to remind everyone why we’ve made the policies we have in place. After closing for 5 weeks due to the health and safety concerns for our employees and customers while in the beginning of this unknown health crisis, we developed safety policies in line with CDC recommendations and government guidelines, along with the input of our employees and customers. Our employees are here to help and their health and safety comes first and we would not have been able to reopen without them.
This is still somewhat of an unknown and we are not here to argue the merits or effectiveness of wearing masks and gloves and whether or not the government has the right to enforce regulations. We are here to operate a business and serve the community.
We had a goal of providing the safest shopping AND work environment possible and have done everything we can to create that. We have had more positive feedback regarding the safe shopping environment than we ever expected and an overwhelming response from customers who won’t shop anywhere else because safety protocols aren’t even remotely being enforced.
Since we’ve reopened, we have had someone full time at our entrance to disinfect every single cart before it is returned, to ensure that all customers have a mask and are wearing it properly (we even provide one if unavailable), and to keep a limit on store capacity. We have FULLY enclosed our cashier stations (no shower curtains or 2 foot squares) and provide all of our employees with masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. We have gone above and beyond in expense and effort to ensure that all of our customers and employees feel safe while shopping and working here.
Yes, we do require masks/face coverings for EVERYONE who enters the store. We understand this can be an issue for some people and we have and will continue to offer, at additional cost to us, free curbside pickup. We do our absolute best to accommodate each and every customer and this has allowed us to remain in business and give back to our community for the last 60 years.
There will always be differences in opinions…that’s the beauty of our country. However, attacking our employees is unacceptable and no accommodations will be made for that.

Edited to add: we took the current guidelines under advisement while making our own policies that we felt would keep everyone safest and make everyone feel comfortable while working and shopping.
While we have a policy of not engaging directly online with comments as it is too easy for simple issues to be taken to out of context, please know we do read all of the comments and take them under advisement.
Also know we are all trying to do our best in a new and difficult situation and we appreciate the support and understanding!
And just a reminder…
-A mask is required for anyone of any age to enter our store (this is a private business and yes we are allowed to require that)
-We provide curbside pickup for anyone not comfortable with entering the store or willing to abide by our policies
