Let’s be honest, we're all human and flip our lids sometimes. Children are human too, and they need help learning how to cope with their big emotions.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT, Landreth, 1991; Landreth & Bratton, 2006) is a play-based program to help parents and children establish a secure and connected relationship. CPRT is effective with children presenting with behavioral, emotional, social, and attachment disorders.
In a supportive group environment, parents learn essential skills for responding effectively to their children's many different needs. These skills help children learn that they can depend on their parents to be consistent and reliable, and that their parents will provide acceptance, security, and love.
CPRT teaches that a secure and connected child-parent relationship is essential to a child's overall well-being and healthy development. The goal of CPRT is to strengthen this relationship as a way to address the child's maladaptive behaviors and reduce parents' stress. Parents also learn to effectively limit their child's misbehavior while demonstrating empathy and respect for their child.
