Hi I’m a lonely one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo in Alexandria. I never thought I would do this but none of the traditional ways of finding an owner have been working for me. I tried letting friends and family know I was available but they didn’t have any recommendations for me. I know that it’s hard to be average in today’s world but I’m clean, presentable and situated in a small gated community. I do have the means to provide a comfortable living environment. I have a dedicated garage parking space, really high ceilings and a nice storage room off my balcony. I’ve never let smokers stay with me. I would welcome your small pets. If you think we might be a good match please don’t hesitate to call my friend Linda to set up an appointment for us to meet. PROPERTIES.MYHOUSELENS.COM 3307 Wyndham Circle

Way back on August 2 realtor partner Rhonda and I had an ice cream social for our clients. Each of us also gave away a $50.00 gift certificate to Osteria Marzano. My winner was Caroline Hall. Caroline and her husband Matt enjoyed a nice meal last month the night before she took her final nursing exam. She aced the test and is now a full-time nurse at Virginia Hospital Center (hope I got that right). I am so proud of her! Congratulations.

Day 2 - As some of my realtor friends know, I try to help folks who use housing subsidies find places to rent. It's a long process with a lot of no's before I can find a landlord willing to rent to these folks. After many months of trying I finally found a rental for a family that is having a hard time on so many levels. I am so thankful that they are in a safer place and won't have to move for the foreseeable future. Now I have a request. If anyone has twin beds with mattresses that they were planning to get rid of I would love to pick them up to deliver to this family. They are two beds short so those kids are sleeping on the floor. The two girls could use small dressers for their clothes if any of you have one you don't want any longer. I figure the more I ask around the better chance I have of being able to help out. As an FYI, the usual social services agencies that would normally help with this kind of request are not doing furniture delivery due to COVID concerns.
I would like to use this platform as an opportunity to share 25 days of things that I am grateful for past, present and future. Day 1 - Thank you to our military men and woman no matter in what capacity they service. They all make America a better place to be. I miss attending the Navy Band's Christmas concerts. United States Navy Band December 1 at 6:08 AM · We kick off our #NavyHolidays season with the crowd pleasing Dueling Jingle Bells! You still have time to prepare. Complete five essential tasks before the winter season sets in. LINDACORSNITZ.MYHOMEHQ.BIZ Is your home ready for cooler weather?
Day 7 - So much to be grateful on this day that I forgot to record anything. Let's pick that even though I'm sad the Steelers lost last night's football game I am so happy for Alex Smith. You can't say enough about his courage or perseverance. Day 8 - Today I was able to help a friend clean out the last of her grandmother/uncle's apartment. It was a heavy lift but being able to help make someone's life a tad easier brings me joy.
Day 6 - How do you know when you have found the perfect home? When you check out the home on your way to closing and learn that there is an orange azalea blooming outside your garage. Athena and Nathan were a joy to work with as we dealt with the first stages of COVID and a shortage of homes on the market. I am thankful that we met years ago at a rental open house. Oh, by the way, orange is Nathan's favorite color.
Bring the style of the season into your home with these do-it-yourself projects that can stay up all winter long. BHG.COM 19 DIY Winter Decorations You Can Keep Up After the Holidays
Day 5 - Today I am thankful that when I moved to Samson Properties that Rhonda Campbell made the move with me. We've been working together to back each other up when we need an extra set of hands. Rhonda's always there when I need to bounce a problem off her. Thanks for helping make my business a success in 2020.
Day 4 - A colleague and I made a move from our prior real estate firm to Samson Properties in February. What a great move it has been. I love the company and am grateful for all the opportunities for growth that I have found there.
Day 3 - I am grateful that I have wonderful sister-in-laws. Today is a special birthday for SIL Barbara Alfred. Yesterday was the birthday of SIL Gwen Corsnitz. Dee Corsnitz has an August birthday so I don't quite have a SIL trifecta. No matter what, I couldn't ask for a nicer group of women to call family. Love you all.
Day 13 - Like a lot of folks, COVID has turned my life upside down. There are so many things I miss and when I can do them again I will remember not to take those simple things for granted. The one blessing that COVID has brought is that my husband, daughters and I are in one home together. I am so thankful to have this extra time with our adult daughters before life moves them on to other places when "normalcy" returns.
Day 12
Day 11 – Today is my buddy Beth Burnside’s birthday. We met about 35 years ago at the worst job I’ve ever had. I wanted to wipe the whole experience from my mind but I wanted to keep my friendship with co-worker Beth. As our friendship grew her boyfriend, Massoud, kept telling me I should go on a date with Beth’s childhood friend David who had moved to the area. I said, “no. thank you” many times”. Somewhere I must has said yes because we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in September. Out of that horrible job came the best thing to ever happen to me—David. Happy Birthday Beth. I am definitely grateful for your friendship. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have you translating West Virginian for me. 😉
Day 10 - I am so grateful for music. Music is one of my greatest joys. I was thinking of holiday songs I like and for some reason this one stuck in my head. Attached are two versions of Greg Lake's song. One when we were both young and a second version showing an older Greg Lake. It's a reminder that time doesn't stand still for any of us but music can take us to any age of our lives. https://youtu.be/yfY4b1NszpY https://youtu.be/U6-PAKOt7sM YOUTUBE.COM Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas (Original Version - 4K Restored)
Day 9 - Today is a happy and sad day. My nephew and family closed on their house in Haymarket this morning. It seems like it was just yesterday that he and his girlfriend moved in with David and I while Matt waited to begin a career in the Federal government. A marriage and two kids later they are starting a new chapter in a beautiful town in North Carolina. I am grateful for the time we had having them live close to us.
Day 20 - Today I am grateful for my non-judgemental pets. I was tired today and did nothing. No Christmas cards were written. No paperwork I wanted to work on got done. I had football on the TV and pretty much snoozed the day away. My dogs curled up with me or slept nearby. They didn't care that I wasn't productive. They just accept me as I am. If only humans could be as embracing. 🙂
Day 19 – I love winter. I love snow. Today I drove over the mountains in Western Maryland. What a beautiful drive. I saw snow on bare trees that looked like a scene from a 1960’s paint-by-numbers kit. I saw snow on stands of trees that looked like Mother Nature shook a sifter of powdered sugar over them. Then there were groves of pines with their boughs bending from the snow deposited on them. So elegant. Scattered among the wooded areas were fallow fields covered in blankets of snow all bedded down for the winter awaiting their renewed life in the spring. I am grateful for my day of winter land wonder.
Day 18 - Today I am grateful to live in a warm and comfortable home. Every time I'm at home and I hear wind whipping through the trees or the continual down pour of rain I give thanks. Today it's just plain cold here but I am sitting in comfort. I am a very fortunate person.
Day 17 – Life continues to throw curve balls in 2020. Yesterday my father-in-law, Glenn Burr, passed away. Glenn was a veteran of the Korean War and a life-long employee at AT&T. He worked hard all his life but he found time to be a part of David’s passions. Glenn participated in David’s Boy Scout camping adventures. He found equipment when David decided to be a ham radio operator and later modified basement space for David to have a dark room as he pursued his photography career. All of Glenn’s quiet support created an awesome man who, in turn, is a great father to his children. I am sad regarding his passing, however I have many fond memories of an outstanding man and father-in-law. I will always be grateful for his kindness and support.
Day 16 - Today would have been my dad's 84th birthday. He and I had an estranged relationship most of our lives. No matter the pros and cons on that issue we shared some things that no separation could change. My dad was a very good athlete and played softball when I was a child. I, in turn, played softball well into my 40's. While I never had his skill level, my oldest daughter did inherit his talents. She played travel and high school softball most of her childhood. I cherished my time with Dad on the softball field when I was a little girl and I loved watching my daughter grow up in the sport. Thank you Dad for sharing this sport with me and giving me the ability to share it with my daughter.
Day 15 - I am grateful for a new Christmas song that certainly reflects the 2020 life. As a former PA TV show attendee would say, "It's got a good beat and you can dance to it". YOUTUBE.COM WALLIS - Lonely Christmas (Official Music Video)
Day 25 - For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Day 24 - My sassy Aunt Charlotte reminded me I should be thankful for my aunts after one of my posts earlier this month. In didn't take the passing of my mom earlier this year to remind me of how grateful I am for the love and support from not only my aunts but the rest of the Waltz and Lynch families. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family. I deeply missed not having our normal reunions to see each other this year as we try to avoid the spread of COVID. My hope and prayers for 2021 is the ability to see family with hugs and joy all around.

Day 23 - No matter where I've been the last several days I have not been able to see the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter. While the Wise Men followed the Star to Bethlehem I have followed the sky of cloud cover. Oh well. My gratefulness for today is to have returned safely to Virginia. I will now enjoy one of the best things on earth--nestling into my own bed longing for dreams of sugar plums dancing in my head.
Day 22 - Christmas cards have little chance of going anywhere this year. No baking for the holidays has been done. No a present is wrapped and not all are purchased. If this would have happened to me before 2014 I would be a stressed-out screaming banshee. So what am I grateful for today? Cancer. I don't wish it on anyone and hope I never have to deal with it again. The disease doesn't care what your preferences are. You're tired when you're tired and scheduling means nothing. I am still an impatient person who wants perfection but I'm smart enough now to know that you must let things go that are beyond your control. I will enjoy the coming holidays with my family no matter what does or doesn't get done. I wish the same for you and your families.
Day 21 - My happy place. Early in our relationship David and I found Maine as a place to sooth our souls. I cannot wait for the day we can return to visit without masks and quarantines. I'm also grateful that our daughters love Acadia as much as we do. Gives us a shot at having them continue to vacation with us in future years. 🙂
